Gabbi was kneeling in the grass in the Bronx park, having followed a friendly stray during her selling spell. She laughed a bit as she picked up a stick and tossed it, and to her delight the massive mutt bounded away after it, bringing it back to her and arching his back down, his rear in the air and his large, matted tail swaying joyously back and fourth, the stick dangling lopsidedly from his mouth as he waited for her to make a move.
She shuffled forward and waited a moment, having been bitten by dogs before even when they seemed keen on playing. Most street dogs had an almost inpenetrable layer of anger in them, just as she did, and their bites were just as vicious as her bark. This was part of the reason why she took solace in the creatures, but she was still wary of them when it came to putting her hands near their mouths.
Finally, when the dog began to whine, she took the stick gently in hand and gave it a tug. The dog growled but his tail refused to discontinue it's violently pendulous swinging. Gabbi smiled and gave the stick another harder tug, and the dog tugged back. Her left knee was perched upon a small stack of four newspapers that were, as of now, unsold.
"Commere ya mutt," she said with a grin, pulling the stick toward her chest. The dog smelled dirty, earthy and wet. She almost gagged, the smell causing her to wretch a bit internally, causing her stomach to churn. She let the dog tug the stick back and she extended her arms to flow with the dog's movements, if only to get the beast's foul, rotting-smelling head away from her nose.

[[Either one works. We can just do this one if you want ^.^]]
Gabbi looked up, a bit embarassed by her blatant lack of toughness in the face of another person. She didn't let the feeling leak, though, and instead just shook her head no. "Nah. Followed him from Brooklyn. He was more interesting den sellin, anyway." She looked down at her papers, which were now creating a nice little mat for her below her knees. "Gotta sell em or sell em back." She hadn't really thought about it until now, and she groaned internally at the notion that she'd lost money due to the mutt that she'd probably never see again.
Wonderful.
She sat back on her heels and jerked the stick from the startled dog's mouth, tossing it as far as she could. She shook her shoulders back into place, remembering that she wasn't in her home territory. This made her a bit anxious, but she also realized that most of the other boroughs didn't get as much of a vicious rap as hers did. This gave her a bit of mental calamity, but she was still uneasy.

"I don't think nobody said I was selling in any other borough," she commented coldly, crossing her arms across her chest as she perceived the girl icily. The dog came bounding back quickly but her perception didn't change, and the dog looked confused. The fun air of the girl had gone, the child tucked away for another day. Now she was seventeen again and back on the defensive, although that could be expected.
"Look, girl, I'se been a newsie practically since I could walk. Since I moved into this country of "opportunity" anyway." She paused, muttering softly, 'load a crap that idea was...' and then looked back up at the girl. "I know the rules, and I don't need any preacher girl reciting 'em to me like deys was da ten commandments or nothin. I only follow two higher beings, not including me own leader- Hearst and God. Got it?"
At present she didn't care who the girl was. She had her protection--her fists to start, her brack knuckles in the billows of her skirt, and her switchblade in it's additive pocket up her sleeve. And that was all she needed, provided the dog didn't decide to join the scrap, if there was one at all.

Gabbi scowled, but didn't feel humbled by the fact that that girl was the leader. Actually, she was hardly phased. "Actually, I believe you did accuse me of selling in your borough. Elsewise I don't think you would have mentioned me sellin round here at all, right?" She stood now, off her knees. The dog whined, feeling forlorn, and she snappily bent down, nabbed the stick and threw it again.
Pain in the ass dog. It had been entertaining for a while, and she'd always preferred animals to humans. But now she actually had to deal with a human, and that wasn't exactly a fun time.
"I'm in a park in da Bronx. I aint in your lodgin house, I aint in your streets. You can control what people do dere, but let me have some peace when I aint on da offensive, say?" She spit on the ground as the dog bounded back again. Gabbi grumbled something and picked up the stick again, chucking it in the far opposite direction. Fortunately as the dog ran off it was distracted by the scent of a squirrel, and preoccupied itself with shredding the creature.
But life happened, and she scarcely felt remorseful. At least the dog would probably get a meal out of it.
"Well skill's all dat anyone's really got in dis world, or all deys don't got. So I don't know what yer tryin to say." She looked at the girl's hand for a few moments, wary of it. She didn't exactly want to play nice now, particularly not if the girl tried to pull anything. "McGinn. Gabbi," she said, and then reluctantly spit in her own hand and took the other girl's.

Cole had been watching the scene, he hadnt heard what was being said since he was alittle bit away, but hed been walking through and noticed the girls ahead. First it was gabby then it was another girl.
He quirked his brow to watch how it would proceed. He knew how well Gabby was with other girls. He smirked a bit, he could just imagine her retorts. When he finally got up to them he quirked his brow.
"Playing well with others as always I see.."He remarked sarcastically to Gabby. "Though the greeting and shaking hands is new to me. Since when did you become so friendly"He crossed his arms over his chest, his cool gray eyes regarding the too... cooly.
He glanced over at starsage. He recognized her a bit, but he made no comment to her. ((hope you dont mind me crashing lol)

"And I'm gonna say dat I don't just got skill, I got smarts. Three or four other guys aint gonna be a death sentance if I'se prepared--and don't you even consider asking a "what if you aren't" question. I'se always prepared."
Gabbi looked at the girl for a bit longer before shrugging impassively. "I think I elbowed you in the stomach. Good reason not to sneak up on people, aye?" she asked, somewhat sarcastically. She glanced over at Cole and scowled at him, but it morphed quickly into a smirk.
"I'se glad to see dat I'se got me a regular stalker now," she said, her hands on her hips as she watched him carefully. "But since when is it against the law to shake hands? I think I owe it to da girl-- last time we met I elbowed her in the stomach." She paused, "I'se not sure how much she's larned though...." she shrugged. Usually once she was messed with once, she wasn't messed with again. That was just how it went, particularly if there was violence involved.

Cole grunted a bit. "hm..>"He said, "You take mercy..."He said, "pity...'He glanced over at Starsage and raised his brows.
"Stalker?"he said, 'Im sorry but you must be thinking of my brother."He said. "Considering how you guys are..."He said.
"Pleasure... Im sure"He replied dryly but didnt offer a hand to her at all.

Gabbi rolled her eyes at him, crossly, as the dog whined at her feet. It had dessimated the squirrel and was now back with her. She apparently just couldn't shrug the thing, but she had no intention of keeping it, but she would certainly make sure it didn't get hurt right off the bat. Maybe she'd even spare the creature some food.
"Pity? What, you can't like yer women ruthless all the time...." she trailed off as he mentioned Blake. Her own eyebrows shot up at that, and she willed her cheeks not to color. "How we are?" she demanded, taking a step closer to the boy, "And how, exactly, are we?"
She glanced at Starsage, not sure what the girl was making of it. She didn't much care either, seeing as she didnt really know the girl at all, except for a few casual run-ins and angry words, but other than that there wasn't much of anything.
((Posting order so that we can all keep up and not overrun anyone: Gabbi, Starsage, Cole. Repeat.))

Coles attention was turned to the dog and he tilted his head, his mind going to blake briefly before it was brought back up to gabbie.
He grunted ignoring starsages comment. "has the cold little loner grown soft in my absense?"he asked. "Its a shame.."He shook his head.
His expression didnt falter nor did he look intimidated in any way as she stepped forward asking him just exactly how her and blake were. "you know.. good question. Thats what I always wondered. Because just a reminder to you, my brother is no closer to attaching himself to one woman then spot is to wearing a pink frilly dress with yellow bows."he smirked. It was an irrtating smirk. His cool eyes held hers intently just waiting for a flicker of something even if its barely anything at all.

"I aint gone soft," she hissed, irked by Cole's insistance at being a royal pain in the ass. And, of course, he had to prey on her womanly side. Leave it up to Cole to use your gender against you, although she'd never really considered herself to be a lady. More of just a girl.
She kept her eyes on him menacingly, her hands sliding down to her sides. She pet the dog briefly with one hand as she looked up at him, stooping slightly. "And whose to say that I'm willing to attatch myself to any one man just yet, either?" Of course this wasn't exactly a fair or true statment. If anyone gave her the chance to be attatched, without infidelity, she'd certainly take it. But that was not the case, and she lived with it.
It was a bit of a worry, though, that no one would be ineterested. Well, then she supposed she'd just die a lonely death void of meaningful relationships. Everyone died eventually, and if life sucked...well, then so be it. She scowled at him nonetheless, her arms slowly crossing over her chest.

Cole wasnt affect by anything she was saying. In fact it was exactly what hed hoped for, he and gabbi did this all the time it was just what they did. It never ended with either on top, more so one of the irritated but usually when cole got irritated it turned into something more then just a vocal match.
"Oh you're right. Maybe you and Blake would have the perfect relationship. You're both pretty much whores"he said. "If you were together, youd end up with an open relationship and youd both be happy. Cause we all no that all relationships are incapable of faithfulness to one person... dont wwe gabbi?"he said his lips curled in a bit of slight snarl.
He nodded over towards star. "Why dont you go back to your little friend over there"He said, "your making her feel left out, and you wouldnt want that would you?'he said. "You could always tell her off like you normally do and just add her on the endless list of people who arent even on your radar."He said. "One more person youve knocked from your pathetic lonely existance when I can see how much you wished you had friends. You dont want to be alone forever... You want to believe you do, but you dont. I see the bit of craving you have to have someone that you can at least feel like youcan count on. Someone that could have youru back..."he gave a short dry, empty laugh "You'll always be alone"

Gabbi scowled, turning first to Star. "Dont gotta go. This jackass'll go as soon as he finishes tearing me apart." She assumed that was what he'd do, anyway. It seemed like he did little else to her.
Her eyes narrowed as he began to belittle her, but she didn't retort immediately to everything he said. "Yeah, Cole? I bet you think you've got me all figured out. How long did it take to come up wid'at, anyhow? Its a bit creepy, you know, how you've spent your spare time. Spying on your brother's sexual life, spying on mine? It seems to me like youse devoted an awful lotta time to thinkin' about me." She was slowly edging toward him now, talking as she walked.
"But what about you, Cole? I think youse really jest tellin us your life story here. Youse got about as many people dat you rely on as me. Yeah, you look good now--but whose gonna wanna go to bed with a dirty, mean old bastard when you outgrow your looks? When youse start drinkin too much and git yerself a big fucking belly? No one will want you then." She smiled, cruelly, standing close to him now.
She cast a stray glance at Starsage to make sure she was still there, and then proceeded toward Cole. "And what do you know about me relationships anyway? Aint like I ever considered you better for much of anything more dan a fuck, so what kinda first-hand knowledge do youse got, ken?" She looked up at him, her mind thinking about the blade on her sleeve but abandoning the idea.
Instead her hand came up and she placed a smark slap to his cheek, satisfied with the resounding noise. Of course she was probably going to pay heavily for that, but it wasn't like she couldn't scrap it.

Cole listned to her try to tear in to him. Unfortunately for her, he really didnt give a damn about any of that, specially about the part where she tried to turn it around on him.
instead of retorting... he laughed. He couldnt help it she was trying to knock him down and all he could do was laugh at her attempt. He thought she knew him better then that, but apparnetly not.
Then she slapped him. The only sign that changed was a twitch in the muscle of his jaw. "Alright sweetheart..."He said, grabbing her wrist before she could pull it away. "You done showing off for your friend?"he asked, his fingers tightening on the soft skin of her wrist.

Gabbi hissed as his grip tightened on her wrist, although it was expected, to a degree. She pulled back with her captured hand, to distract, as she slipped the switchblade modified pocketknife up her other sleeve. "Aint showin off," she said, keeping her eyes on him. Her fingernails were dirty, like the rest of her, even though she'd only showered two-odd days ago.
Her other hand came up, the blade pressed against her palm and running up her middle finger. She brought her other hand to the top half of his wrist and then used her thumb to rotate the knife, slicing down his wrist. The incision was only about two, two and a half inches long, but it was enough to draw blood. She'd considered biting him, but that was something of a desperate move. In her opinion, this was classier.

Cole sucked in a breath at the sudden feel of an almost paper cut. He looked down as crimson color started to stain the sleeve of his shirt. He growled a bit, reaching up to grab her sleeve at the shoulder and tore down taking the sleeve of her blouse before landing his fist into her.
"Fucking bitch"he growled as he wrapped up his arm, having hoped to knock her down.
