Jinks was on the bridge of Brooklyn looking down at the water, she was hoping to run into someone but never did. She was tired of running around looking for someone that she hasn't seen in a while. He most likely doesn't even remember her. She found a pebble and threw it into the water and watched it splash into the water.
She heard some people behind her but didn't pay any attention to it she just looked at the beautiful water. Well it's not really beautiful just water. Reflecting the sun, nothing special about that. Jinks sighed and sat on the edge of the bridge. "Do do dumb," she sang in boredom.

"Do do dumb,"
Mike strolled along the Brooklyn bridge, hands in his pockets and face turned up wards. He was in deep thought. Lately, thing in Manhattan had gotten out of hand. He'd lost his control and had done something really stupid. He'd threatened one of the Manhattan girls. Mike was so mad at himself for that. He wasn't supposed to seem a threat until later on down the line. Somehow, he needed to fix that. Jack and his newsies were probably going crazy; probably playing the big brother and getting all protective. Mike grunted and clenched his fist. How could he have been so stupid?!
Sighing, Mike tried to calm himself. That was in the past and he needed to move forward. He needed to think of a way to mend the wrong; no not wrong, Dreamer deserved everything she got, but the mistake that he did.
The Brooklyn Bridge was his favorite thinking spot. He just felt free, almost like a king. He could do whatever he wanted and he was above everyone else. Someday, Mike D. Greaser would be that among the newsies, but right now he would just stay where he was, plotting his revenge.
To his left, Mike heard a faint melody, a young girl singing. Turning to face her, Mike felt his face turn into a fake grin. He had to keep up the facade that he was just a nice boy walking along the Brooklyn Bridge. When his eye focused in on the girl, he felt his face drop. Jinks?! His fake smile turned into a evil smirk as he approached her. "Jinks, how are you, love?" He asked, sickeningly sweet.

"Jinks, how are you, love?"
She looked to see who was talking to her and it was Mike. She remembered what Dreamer told her and the others back at the lodging house. She felt tears come to her eyes when she remembered what Dreamer looked like that night. "Go away Mike," she said turning back to the water, hoping he wouldn't noticed how upset she was, she tried to defend him at the lodging house but that only got her into more trouble with her friends.
"I'm not aloud to talk to ya," she said not looking at him. She kept her eyes on the water. Maybe what he did to Dreamer was true, none of the Harlem newsies would do that. Yes they are strong but Dreamer was nice and she wouldn't do anything to make another newsie do that stuff to her. She was also a bad liar, so she couldn't have lied and said that Mike did it. She didn't know what to do, her best bet was just stay quiet and try to be good.

"Go away Mike,"
Without losing his cool, or changing his expression, Mike became livid inside. Jinks was mad at him, but why? Her brother, Jack, had probably put this awful picture in her mind. But whatever Kelly had said, Mike was convinced he was lying. Mike had done nothing wrong, yet. Mike was angry that Jinks was angry with him. This was not part of the plan.
He needed Jinks on his side, if not he just needed her to know. Jinks needed to know that her brother wasn't the perfect brother that he pretended to be. He needed her to doubt her brother. Hopefully that would put some pressure on ole' Jacky-boy.
Mike sniffed, faking being upset. "Aw, come on Jinks. What's wrong?" He took a few tentative steps toward her, afraid she was going to lash out at him. Jinks was known for her temper. Gets it from her brother. But it wasn't anything Mike couldn't handle, she was only 14 for bloody sakes.
"I'm not aloud to talk to ya,"
Aw, so it was Jack. Jack had probably forbidden her from talking to Mike, just because he wanted to pretend that he was a good brother. But Jack wasn't going to be able to pretend much longer. All of his secrets were going to be brought out into the open. Kelly wasn't going to get away that easy.
"And why is that?" MIke inquired, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Aw, come on Jinks. What's wrong?"
She turned back to him and saw he was upset. How many people could she let down? Her life was just horrible; she's a horrible friend and a horrible sister. "Tell me something Mike did ya run into another Manhattan newsie a couple of days ago, maybe in Harlem?" she asked hoping it was a no.
"And why is that?"
She sighed "Because I'm trying to be good." she said "And after what I heard about ya, the best thing is to stay away from anyone that could get me into trouble." she said she remembered back at the lodging house the boys called him a murderer. If that was true she didn't want to get into it. "I'm sorry Mike," she said, "I seem to be letting everyone down these days." she said getting off of the side of the bridge and looking at her feet.
She wasn't herself anymore; she's been acting more like a girl. She hasn't had a drink since she got really drunk in the pub; she's even wearing a dress that was her mother's. She hasn't even been acting like herself; she's been staying away from the Mush and Dreamer. She didn't know what to say around them she just felt that she didn't belong here anymore; maybe she was right.

"Tell me something Mike did ya run into another Manhattan newsie a couple of days ago, maybe in Harlem?"
Mike furrowed his eyebrows, feigning confusion. Of course, he knew what she was talking about. Dreamer. Mike knew that sooner or later news was going to get out about what happened in that alley. That day was so frustrating to Mike. It was something he hadn't planned on happening. It was almost like Mike was drunk; he couldn't control his actions. He regretted everything he did that day. Well, not everything. What he did that day showed Manhattan that he meant business. But he honestly wished he had gone about it differently.
"I'm not sure what you are talking about, love," he responded, leaning against the railing of the bridge.
"Because I'm trying to be good."
Mike almost scoffed when she said that. Jinks, being good? That was like saying Mike was going to be good. But Mike controlled himself and simply said, "Oh, really now?"
"And after what I heard about ya, the best thing is to stay away from anyone that could get me into trouble."
Mike cleared his throat and licked his lips, hiding a smile. She heard things? Well, that took her long enough. With his lips pulling into a smirk, Mike said, "What kinda of things?"
"I'm sorry Mike. I seem to be letting everyone down these days."
Mike's eyebrows shot up. That was a change. One minute she was accusing him and now she was bloody apologizing. Well, Mike was going to take advantage of that. He needed her on his side, at least some what. Mike could tell she was teetering dangerously on the fence. She couldn't decide who she trusted more, the over-protective brother or the charming bad guy.
"Your not letting anyone down, not me at least," Mike said, taking a tentative step toward her. Mike licked his lips and decided to venture into dangerous territory. "Jack might say he is disappointed, but I'm not." Mike put his hand under her chin and lifted her face so she was looking into his eyes. Mike cringed at this thought. He was acting brotherly. "Trust me."

Shades was very annoyed with his selling today. He only sold half of his papers, but he gave the rest to someone else. He was planning on going to Manhattan to talk to Jack about Mike and what he did to Dreamer.
Once he got on the Brooklyn Bridge, he saw two people he knew. He started running at a pace and once he got their he said "Hey Mike! Leave Jinks alone! You probably know she ain't allowed to tawk to you'se. You betta get outa heah befoah I go get Spot." Shades yelled at him. He was trying to protect Jinks the best he could, especially because she was Jack's little sister.
He grabbed Jinks' arm and whispered in her ear "Go back to the Brooklyn Lodging House, if I ain't back der in ten minutes, den get Spot okay?"

"I'm not sure what you are talking about, love,"
Jinks smiled, she knew he didn't do it. "So ya didn't do it!" she said happily, "Ya ain't the one that hurt Dreamer I knew it. I tried to tell them that it might have been a mistake but they wouldn't listen." she said and hugged him. "I knew ya ain't a bad guy." she said and ended the hug.
"Oh, really now?"
She saw that he wanted to laugh, "Go ahead laugh," she said "But it's true I've been getting into too much trouble; first the Pub and then Dreamer. It's just getting to be too much work trying to be independent." she said; this was true she loved being free but now it's getting too hard. She didn't know what to do or who to hang out with. "As far as I know with Dreamer and the boys back at the lodging house I think that they're mad at me." she sighed out.
"What kinda of things?"
"Well," started Jinks, "Blink said ya dangerous, Mush I think it was said that ya ain't a good person, and Race said ya a murderer." she said "I think that's all the boys said," she said putting on her thinking face, "Yea that's all." she said and smiled "Ya ain't a murderer are ya?" she asked looking him straight in the eyes.
"Your not letting anyone down, not me at least, Jack might say he is disappointed, but I'm not, trust me."
She smiled when he told her she wasn't letting him down. "Jack never said he was disappointed. I can just see it when he looks at me." she said quietly then Mike put his hand under her chin so that she was looking him in the eyes. She did have a small crush on Mike but that was her little secret but when he did this it almost made her heart go out of her chest. She didn't know why but she was thinking he was going to kiss her, but she was probably wrong.
"Hey Mike! Leave Jinks alone! You probably know she ain't allowed to tawk to you'se. You betta get outa heah befoah I go get Spot."
"You got to be kidding," she mumbled as she turned and saw a Brooklyn newsie, Shades. "Why now?" she asked herself, he grabbed Jinks by her arm and dragged her away from Mike.
"Go back to the Brooklyn Lodging House, if I ain't back der in ten minutes, den get Spot okay?"
"Um let me think, no!" she stated and pulled away from Shades, "How many times do I have to tell everyone I don't need protected! I can take care of myself!" she yelled, "Mike is my friend and I'll hang out with him if I want to! It's my life not yours, not Spot's, not Dreamers, not Kid Blinks, not Mush's, and definitely not Jack's!" she yelled it felt good to yell again she hasn't yelled in a long time and she missed it.

"So ya didn't do it! Ya ain't the one that hurt Dreamer I knew it. I tried to tell them that it might have been a mistake but they wouldn't listen."
Mike sighed and decided to just tell her. If he wanted her on his side, he had to gain her trust. If Mike didn't tell her now, then she was going to find out somewhere else. And when she did, it was probably going to be a distorted version of the truth. Sighing heavier, Mike responded, "I see. Dreamer." Mike took in a deep breath and shook his head. Dreamer. "I did hurt her, but that was because I lost my temper. She was provoking me!" Mike said, fist clenched to the side. He didn't usually get angry, but when someone provoked him, you better watch out. Mike sighed and calmed himself. "In short, I did meet up with Dreamer and we did have a small dispute. But don't let her innocent exposure fool you. She has a good punch..." Mike rubbed his jaw and cringed at the thought.
Suddenly, Jinks hugged him. Hugging? What would people think if they saw Mike hugging a girl on the Brooklyn Bridge. They would think that he had manipulated Jack Kelly's sister. Mike smiled and hugged her back. She pulled away and Mike laughed.
"I knew ya ain't a bad guy."
Mike smiled. Yes, he had her right where he wanted her. "Remember that Jinks. Remember that."
"Go ahead laugh, But it's true I've been getting into too much trouble; first the Pub and then Dreamer. It's just getting to be too much work trying to be independent. As far as I know with Dreamer and the boys back at the lodging house I think that they're mad at me."
Mike chuckled and raised his eyebrows. "You're just a little rebel, aren't you?" He shook his head and laughed out loud this time. "Well, forget them. If they are so mad at you, why do you stay with them?" Maybe he could persuade her to go to Midtown with her. True, this would not go over well with a lot of the boys, but it would freak Kelly out and that is all that mattered.
"Well, Blink said ya dangerous, Mush I think it was said that ya ain't a good person, and Race said ya a murderer." she said "I think that's all the boys said. Yea that's all.Ya ain't a murderer are ya?"
Mike tried to contain his anger as she said all of this. What right did they have to say all of these things? They act like they are perfect, when really they are just as bad as he is. Yes, his crimes might be looked at in a darker light, but the Manhattan newsies had their crimes that were just as bad.
When she asked if he was a murderer, Mike knew he couldn't hide it. But he could put some chocolate icing over the top of it. "Let's just say I have done somethings that I am not proud of," Mike began, and then quickly added, "Who hasn't? But that is all in the past now."
"Jack never said he was disappointed. I can just see it when he looks at me."
Mike smiled warmly and shook his head. "Don't worry about Jack. He doesn't know what he is missing." Jack was so busy with his everyday life, that he failed to see that he had an amazing sister standing in the corner waving at him. Mike was going to use that to his advantage.
Now, Mike knew Jinks had a crush on him. Mike could read people as if they were just a book sitting on his desk. Jinks liked him.. heh, who didn't? But Mike knew this. But how could he use this to his advantage. There were many things that would cause immediate danger if Mike was to act like he liked her back. One, Alice. Two, Jack. Three, every single newsie that ever lived. Four, Jinks. But, if he could pursue this and make Jinks think that he liked her, but then to everyone else make it seem like he was just being nice. Mike leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. That looked friendly, right?
"Hey Mike! Leave Jinks alone! You probably know she ain't allowed to tawk to you'se. You betta get outa heah befoah I go get Spot. You got to be kidding,"
Mike growled deep in his throat when he heard the voice. Why couldn't people just leave him alone? Some random kid grabbed Jinks and pulled her away from him. Immediately, Mike was amused. What did this kid think he was going to do? He held back when Dreamer challenged him, but that was because she was a girl. But this kid was a boy and Mike had no excuse. Who was the kid anyway? Did he even know him?
"Go back to the Brooklyn Lodging House, if I ain't back der in ten minutes, den get Spot okay?"
"Um let me think, no! How many times do I have to tell everyone I don't need protected! I can take care of myself! Mike is my friend and I'll hang out with him if I want to! It's my life not yours, not Spot's, not Dreamers, not Kid Blinks, not Mush's, and definitely not Jack's!"
Mike raised his eyebrows, highly amused. Jinks was telling this kid off. Go Jinks! Mike chuckled lightly when she made the comment about him being her friend. If only Kelly could see this. When she finished, Mike began to clap loudly. "Nicely done!"
Then he turned to the bummer who choose to interrupt him. "I don't think we have had the pleasure of meeting," Mike said, a hint of disgust in his voice.

Shades looked at her very shocked. " We have to protect you, especially on our leaders orders. He is going to use you Jinks! I don't think that Jack will be to happy to hear about that. We are trying to protect you so you don't get hurt, and act dumb and choose the wrong side!"
He turned to Mike, "Which obviously, you already did, I can see."
"Nicely done!I don't think we have had the pleasure of meeting"
Shades snorted at the fact that he was trying to defend Jinks. " Nah, it ain't nicely done see Mike? And, I don't need to be pleasured of meetin' you. YOU make me sick. Jinks is coming back with me to Manhattan, because I gotta talk to Jack 'bout somethin'. So just get outta here. Let's go Jinks, I'm done with him. " He grabbed her wrist and started to walk away. Hopefully she doesn't argue as much as she already did.

"I did hurt her, but that was because I lost my temper. She was provoking me!""In short, I did meet up with Dreamer and we did have a small dispute. But don't let her innocent exposure fool you. She has a good punch..."
"Oh please tell me ya joking," begged Jinks, "Oh ya ain't lying are you?" she asked "oh no I'm in so much trouble!" she said "Did you realize what just happened!" she yelled at him "I got into a fight with Dreams because of ya! I most likely lost my best friend!" she yelled and put her head in her hands. "What am I going to do?" she asked herself.
"Remember that Jinks. Remember that."
"No, no I won't," she said "I thought Dreamer was over reacting but now..." she trailed off and she lost her famous smile. She was in so much trouble and worst she's confused. She hates when she's confused! She never knows what's happening around her.
"You're just a little rebel, aren't you?" He shook his head and laughed out loud this time. "Well, forget them. If they are so mad at you, why do you stay with them?"
Jinks couldn't help but smile a tiny bit at the rebel comment. "Because I can't leave Jack," she said, "I know I complain about him a bunch but he's still my brother, and I think it's what our mom would want." said Jinks and grabbed her locket, the locket was like a key to her mother, even though she couldn't get it open, it was still her life line.
"Let's just say I have done something’s that I am not proud of," Mike began, and then quickly added, "Who hasn't? But that is all in the past now."
"NO!" she yelled, "Ya have been lying to me!" she yelled at him. "I trusted ya!" she yelled "I cannot believe your a...a I can't even say it." she said "Jack was right," she said to herself.
"Nicely done!" Then he turned to the bummer who choose to interrupt him. "I don't think we have had the pleasure of meeting,"
Jinks didn't say anything, she's been lied to. Mike's a murderer and he hurt her best friend! How was she going to tell Jack and everyone that she was sorry for being so stupid!
"We have to protect you, especially on our leaders orders. He is going to use you Jinks! I don't think that Jack will be to happy to hear about that. We are trying to protect you so you don't get hurt, and act dumb and choose the wrong side!"
"I DON'T NEED PROTECTED!" she yelled "Jack told ya to spy on me?" she asked Shades when she became calmish. "Jack can never trust me can he?" she asked "I don't care what Jack will be happy with Shades!" she said, "And I'm not dumb either! So what if I do choose to be on his side?" she asked him with her hands on her hips.
"I'm not going back to Manhattan!" she said getting away from his grip again. Her head was spinning, what was going on in New York these days? "Does Jack really think I need someone to look after me?" she asked Shades hoping he was over reacting.

"I'm not going back to Manhattan!" she said getting away from his grip again. Her head was spinning, what was going on in New York these days? If she thinks being with Mike is the right thing, especially after what he did to Dreamer, then that is her choice. "Jinks, Jack cares a whole lot 'bout you. He only told us to watch you, incase anythin' happened. Not just with Mike, but with people in Brooklyn, and maybe even da Delancey's. He only wants us to protect you because he loves you. Just think 'bout it." Shades started to walk away, then turned around. " I won't tell Jack, but if things get out of hand, or if I see you with him again, I'm sorry Jinks, I will have to tell him." He started walking down the rest of the bridge to let her sink that in. ((I am not doing so good, I'm really tired. Sorry if it doesn't make sense. ))

"Oh please tell me ya joking, Oh ya ain't lying are you? oh no I'm in so much trouble! Did you realize what just happened! I got into a fight with Dreams because of ya! I most likely lost my best friend! What am I going to do?"
Mike raised his eyebrows as she began to rant. Dreamer and her were best friends? That was something that Mike had not expected. Jinks and Dreamer were so different. One was crazy and loud and the other was calm and quiet. But I guess opposites attract. But that was just something did not expect. That definitely made things a little more interesting. Now Jinks probably thought Mike was the bad guy. This was going to make things a little difficult. But it wasn't anything that Mike couldn't handle.
"Listen Jinks, whatever female-driver emotions your going through, I'm sorry." Mike pulled out a cigarette and lit it. "But I can't help the fact that Dreamer was a bloody fool and decided to cross me." He shrugged and took a long drag on his cigarette. He blew it out, creating nice circles above their heads.
"No, no I won't. I thought Dreamer was over reacting but now..."
Mike sighed and turned away from her. He leaned against the bridge and looked out into the river. This was way to difficult. He should just give up on Jinks and let her think what she wanted to think. "Jinks, I just lost my temper." He put his head into his hands and faked being upset. He wasn't really upset, not at all. Dreamer was the one who was the fool and talked to him in the first place. But if he wanted Jinks to listen to him and trust him again, he was going to have to seem upset in some way.
"Because I can't leave Jack, I know I complain about him a bunch but he's still my brother, and I think it's what our mom would want."
"You can still be with him, but not stay with him." Mike hoped she was catching on to what he was suggesting. Jinks could stay in Midtown with him. He almost cringed at the thought. Jink in Midtown. That would need a lot of explaining. But the fact that she was Kelly's sister, that should be enough of an explanation.
"NO! Ya have been lying to me! I trusted ya! I cannot believe your a...a I can't even say it. Jack was right,"
Mike sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Forget it Jinks. If you can't let something go that happened years ago, than I can't trust ya." Heh, make her feel guilty. Maybe this would make her believe him. Make her feel bad for making Mike feel bad. Maybe this would work. Mike turned away from her, trying to look disappointed.
"We have to protect you, especially on our leaders orders. He is going to use you Jinks! I don't think that Jack will be to happy to hear about that. We are trying to protect you so you don't get hurt, and act dumb and choose the wrong side!" "I DON'T NEED PROTECTED! Jack told ya to spy on me? Jack can never trust me can he? I don't care what Jack will be happy with Shades! And I'm not dumb either! So what if I do choose to be on his side?"
Mike raised his eyebrows and could not help the triumphant smirk that appeared on his face. She was openly defying Jack. She was openly defying Jack's wishes and saying she was going to Mike's side. Mike crossed his arms over his chest and looked to the boy across from him. But Mike couldn't help but think that Jinks was going to back down from her claim. But if she wanted to, Mike would let her stay in Midtown with him.
"Nah, it ain't nicely done see Mike? And, I don't need to be pleasured of meetin' you. YOU make me sick. Jinks is coming back with me to Manhattan, because I gotta talk to Jack 'bout somethin'. So just get outta here. Let's go Jinks, I'm done with him."
Mike rolled his eyes at his poor attempt at an insult. Was Jinks actually listening to this. Mike choose not to reply to him; he wasn't worth it. Mike simply chuckled and turned to Jinks, waiting for her reply.
"I'm not going back to Manhattan! Does Jack really think I need someone to look after me?" He can trust you, but he told me to look afta you because he know's yoah da kind of person that would go on Mike's side. You should care what he is happy with Jinks, he loves you, and is tryin' to take care of you. He is doin' the best he can, he is doin' what your mother couldn't finish. I didn't directly say you are dumb, all I said was, that if you chose the wrong side, then you'se is actin' dumb."
Mike rolled his eyes, for about the fifth time this night. What was wrong with this boy? Couldn't he just leave them along? Mike scoffed. "Why don't you let Jinks decided?" He raised his eyebrows and turned his attention to Jinks. This was getting way to easy. Mike figured Jinks would choose to stay with him, if only for a night. Just to spite Jack and this boy.
"Jinks please, just come back. If you go with Mike, and you get hurt, you have no idea how the others will treat you after you get hurt. I am not trying to make you come back with me. But whatever choice you think is right, den you go with it. Jinks, Jack cares a whole lot 'bout you. He only told us to watch you, in case anythin' happened. Not just with Mike, but with people in Brooklyn, and maybe even da Delancey's. He only wants us to protect you because he loves you. Just think 'bout it. I won't tell Jack, but if things get out of hand, or if I see you with him again, I'm sorry Jinks, I will have to tell him."
Mike pursed his lips. This kid was actually making sense. But hopefully Jinks wouldn't choose his side over Mike's. Mike turned to her and raised his eyebrows. "So?"
{Posting order= Shades, Mike, Jinks}

"Listen Jinks, whatever female-driver emotions your going through, I'm sorry. But I can't help the fact that Dreamer was a bloody fool and decided to cross me."
She knew what Mike was saying, Dreamer does tend to get into things that she'll have trouble getting out of. "Well yea," she said rubbing the back of her neck. She looked everywhere but at him, she didn't know what was going on anymore.
"Jinks, I just lost my temper."
She finally looked back at him. He looked upset and Jinks wasn't really helping at all. "Okay I believe ya. Everyone loses their temper," she said remembering herself. She always loses her temper and it always ends up in a bad way.
"You can still be with him, but not stay with him."
"Ya mean, ya mean stay with ya?" she asked she thought a bit, This could make Jack realize that I'm not a child anymore. But everyone at the lodging house would hate me and what about Dreamer? She already hates me. "Okay," she said "I'll stay with ya." she said and smiled.
"Forget it Jinks. If you can't let something go that happened years ago, than I can't trust ya."
"No, no" she said "I can forget ya just have to let this sink in. I mean it’s really big." she said, him being a murderer is huge! It was something new to Jinks and something she thought she'd never come across since her father. "Okay if it wasn't recently then I can forget it," she said and rubbed her forehead since a head ach was coming in.
"He can trust you, but he told me to look afta you because he know's yoah da kind of person that would go on Mike's side. You should care what he is happy with Jinks, he loves you, and is tryin' to take care of you. He is doin' the best he can, he is doin' what your mother couldn't finish."
"No he can't," said Jinks, "If he can't trust me on the bridge which is close to the Brooklyn Lodging house and if anyone was stupid enough to attack me I could just run to one of ya guys. I also could take them." she said, "I don't need to be watched twenty four seven I can take care of myself." she added and then Shades said the L word. She hated that word; it didn't mean anything to her. "Don't say the L word around me Shades," she said giving him a glare. "And don't speak about my mom ya don't know anything about her!" she yelled and started to take deep breaths trying to calm down.
"Why don't you let Jinks decided?"
"Decide?" she asked; Jinks was never the one to make the good decisions. She looked over the bridge again, what was she going to do? She looked over at Mike and then at Shades and then back at the water; right now Mike was winning.
"Jinks, Jack cares a whole lot 'bout you. He only told us to watch you, incase anythin' happened. Not just with Mike, but with people in Brooklyn, and maybe even da Delancey's. He only wants us to protect you because he loves you. Just think 'bout it."
"So?"
It was true Jack did care about Jinks a bunch but too much how was she ever going to show him that she's grown up by staying with him all her life and not being able to make decisions for herself. "I'm sorry," she started, "Shades I'm going on Mike's side." she finished. "Ya don't have to tell Jack. I'll tell him when I go to get my stuff." she said hopping it was the right decision.

Shades stopped walking when he heard someone talking to him. So, he turned back around.
"Why don't you let Jinks decided?"
This guy really is an idiot, Shades thought. " I am letting her decide incase you didn't notice, I already told her it was her choice." Shades told him, yet again.
"No he can't, If he can't trust me on the bridge which is close to the Brooklyn Lodging house and if anyone was stupid enough to attack me I could just run to one of ya guys. I also could take them. I don't need to be watched twenty four seven I can take care of myself. Don't say the L word around me Shades! And don't speak about my mom ya don't know anything about her!"
Shades shook his head, she really didn't get it did she? He thought. " Jinks, what is someone attacked you, and you couldn't get away? Just like Dreamer. We know you can take care of yoahself, we just want to protect you because we all care about you, a lot. Fine, I won't say the L word, but he does, just remember that," Shades said. " I'm sorry foah talkin' bout yoah mom, but it's true."
"I'm sorry, Shades I'm going on Mike's side. Ya don't have to tell Jack. I'll tell him when I go to get my stuff."
He looked down at the ground then at her face. " Jinks, if you get hurt, then you come back, don't be suprised at how da guys treat ya, they probably won't forgive you. I'm sorry Jinks, I really am. And please remember, everyone cares about you, not because your Jack's sister, because your nice, and you have a great personality. And, I care a lot for you too."
Shades started to walk away, but before he did, he said, " Goodbye Jinks."
