History: She was 3 years old when her mother died. She doesn't really remember her much. All she knows about her mother is that she's from Santa Fe and Jinks was named after her. She doesn't remember her father much either. She just remembers being taking care of by her older brother. Her father was thrown in jail. Then her brother left her. She was alone.
Soon she left her home as well; she was taken to an orphanage in Queens and lived there for a couple years until she decided that they were trying to turn her into a "proper lady" which she never wanted to become. She left the orphanage and went off on her own looking for some sign of safety. She found her way back to Manhattan and decided this was were she was going to stay so her brother could find her. She was living on the streets for that year and she was pick pocket for a while until she ran into some old newsie that brought her to the lodging house.
He told her everything that happens when you become a newsie. He took her into the Manhattan Lodging house and that's were she meet Dreamer, her new best friend; life been pretty fair to her after that.
