History: Kristina grew up in a rather well-to-do family in Manhattan. She had an older brother named Gabriel whom she didn't particularly get along with, but they were never openly hostile to each other, especially with their parents constantly around. When Kristina was around 9, things took a turn for the worst as the family lost almost all of their money. Their father took to drinking at an alarming rate, and would come home in drunken rages, hitting their mother and occasionally Kristina and Gabriel. Though more often Kristina and her mother, as they would never defend themselves. Kristina became terrified of her father, and feared for herself every night when he went out. When she was 11, she and her brother fled the house in the dead of one summer's night, and walked until they hit Brooklyn. Kindly, they were taken into the lodging house and introduced to the lives of the newsies. Gabriel and Kristina, despite all they went through together, still don't get along all that well, and Gabriel has now left her behind to work in a factory, while she still lives and works with the newsies, and no longer goes by her given name.
