Cole made his way up to mikes room. Unfolding the napkin he had wrote his apartment number on, he looked at the numbers on the door as he put it back into his pocket.
He had run into Mike a few days ago. Truth be told, Cole had been bored. Ever since the whole fiasco with Harlem he had pretty much washed his hands of anything to do with the newsies. He had been a good leader, but it seemed that quite a few new people had come along and he turned into the 'bad' guy.
Just because a person wasnt friendly or such, didnt mean he wasnt a good leader. Look at spot for instance, he is a royal pain, but he was a good leader. That was cole... maybe a little bit more of an ass, but to each his own.
Cole hadnt told Blake about this or the fact that he had agreed to help Mike out. Blake would probably give him an earfull and then some, but Blake had already made his mistake, all of which Cole had cleaned up. Now Cole was doing this and Blake had no say in it, so there was no point in telling him. Besides Blake had several friends in the newsie s, there was no point in pulling him into this. Then again because he was doing this, Blake was automatically in this.
Yes cole had thought through it all, but still in the end, Coles need to do something overode his care on what his brother thought or did. If anything hed make his brother stay out of it.
KNocking on the doork he glanced down the hall as he waited for mike to answer.

Mike sat in his chair, drinking coffee. His fingers tapped at the rim of the coffee mug, in time with the song stuck in his head. He didn't even know where the song was from, it was just there. He sighed and forced his fingers to stop that annoying tapping. Just as he did, a knock sounded at the door.
Mike hopped up and reached for the door. His apartment was small, so he could do that. As the door swung open, Mike smirked. Just who he was waiting for. Cole. Mike alone could take over the newsies, he knew that, but with Cole. Wow.
Mike had heard of Cole. He was the guy who'd tried to take over Harlem. When that ended badly, he left town. Now he is back for his revenge. Just like Mike. Mike nodded to him and let him in. "Hello, again." He shut the door, but not before eying the hall for intruders.
{eh, not the longest post in the world... sorry}

Cole was about to wrap again when the door opened and Mike stood before him. He saw the smirk on his face, but he didnt return it, though when mike stepped aside and told him to come in, he did so. He hated standing outside in halls, it drove him nuts.
He liked being in control, he liked having his own place his own things and not waiting in halls, but that would all come soon enough. Right now, they had business to do and once it was all taken care of, once the newsies were taken care of, he would have what he used to have. No not what he had before becoming a newsie, but after that, when he had been leader. Though things would be different, but in a good way, at least for him and obviously mike since this was his mission.
As he walked in his eyes did a quick sweep of the place before he turned to look at mike. "Well.. "He said, "What is your plan?"he asked. Thats right, get right down to business. He wasnt here for idle chat or tea or anything of the sort. He wanted to know what the plan was, and just exactly how mike wanted to execute it.
"Mind if i?'he asked as he saw an open chair and took a seat. Yes he did have manners, some habits were hard to break. His attention turned back to Mike as he waited for him to give him his answers.

"What is your plan?"
Mike's smirked widened. He liked Cole's no fun right to business attitude. That is one of the reasons he'd wanted to work with him. Mike was more of a spur of the moment, do what feels right. Cole was a think it through, don't mess around person. They might just fit together perfectly. The perfect evil pair.
Mind if i?
Mike shook his head, figuring Cole would take a seat anyway. Mike didn't know Cole very well. They'd met just days before. They'd each heard of each other and took an immediate liking to each other. Both of them wanted revenge, both of them craved it. They both were driven by it, ignoring the lives they ruined from it.
"Well, lets start." Mike plopped in his seat. "My plan is simple, take over the newsies..." Mike smirked and leaned comfortably back in his seat. He figured Cole would not be impressed by his simple explanation, but really didn't care. If Mike gave Cole the basics, he was sure to make something of them.

Coles eyes flicked over the place again. It wasnt much and honestly he thought Mike migh have had more tastes in his apartment, but there wasnt much you could do when you really didnt have much to spare. Cole rather liked being more simple then all the high priss stuff that hed had to deal with when he was younger and living with his parents and then his uncle.
As mike answered his question,. Cole raised his brows. "Yes, well..'He said, his hand running over the arm of the chair, his cool gray blue gaze holding Mikes. There was nothing showing in them, except that coldness that seemed to naturally always be there. "That is an obvious statment and the goal you are working towards'He said. "but all plans need their steps. Need the ways to get to the goal. Have you not gotten any thought into that?"He asked. "Because otherwise you are wasting your time. Something like this just cant be run in, bop a few over the head, and then come out the big man. You need strategy. Newsies have rules amongst themselves."He stopped.
"As you already know all of this. So instead of flowering it, just cut to it." he stated.
Cole didnt get along with many people, but he did seem to do alright with mike so far. When hed first met him he'd known right off that this kid had an edge. That shadowing that lay just behind all that charm that he used to get his way. He liked that, it was slick and sly and thats how you got your way.

Mike leaned back in his chair, keeping his eyes trailed on Cole. His were so intense and cold. Mike narrowed his eyes slightly, taking in everything he said. He was right, he needed a plan. Mike had one, it just needed some work. Mike sighed and thought it over before replying, "I have a plan. It's not full prof, but it might work." He then went on to describe the details of his plan. Starting with Jack and Jinks, and how he manipulated Jinks to give him loads of information and how he was pretty sure Jinks was on his side. He then talked about Sarah, how he'd been watching her. He suggested that one of them talked to her, and try to woo her or something. That pretty much covered Manhattan. He then went to Queens. He admitted that he knew nothing about the new Queens leader. That was were his spy came in. Cole had met her just yesterday, a day after Mike had met her. She was perfect for the job. She was beautiful and could wiggle her way into the newsies hearts, gathering information for them. Then there came Brooklyn. Truthfully, Mike had no idea what to do with Spot. He was a rock. He asked for Cole's advice on that. Then there was Harlem. Note, the leader, had a thing for Starsage, Bronx's second in command. That was easy enough. He let all this information sink in as he watch Cole for a reaction. He hoped Cole would think him clever for all of this. Secretly, Mike was trying to impress Cole. He knew he didn't need to, but he just wanted to win his approval. {Gave you lots to work on }

He raised interested brows when Mike mentioned he had a plan but it wasnt full proof. "Go on..."He said, his tone smooth as he waved his hand a bit in pronunciation of the urging.
Cole stayed silent as he listened. His legs crossed like a business man as his hands rested, clasped together casuallky and in his lap. He licked his lips briefly, his eyes continuing to hold Mikes as Mike told of his plan.
When Mike finished, cole stayed silent a few moments before finally opening his mouth. "First off."He said. "how certain are you that Jinks is on your side?"he asked. He wasnt doubting Mike, but Cole liked to hear definite answers and Mike had said he was 'pretty sure', she was on his side.
"Sarah would be a good bet, shes not exactly a newsie, but she is well known among them."He lifted his hand to rub his chin a bit. "I think you would do a good job at wooing her."he said. "You have an accent and women find that charming" he smirked a bit. He was sure Mike had figured this out already.
"Queens is covered as long as that chit of yours doesnt mess things up"he said a slight growl to his words. He had met her the other day, the girl that was going to act as a spy, and he hadnt liked her right off the bat. At least with her in Queens he wouldnt have to deal with her much. "Harlem you've got as long as you've got star. Shes easily swayed, though thats my personal opinion"He nodded. he had never liked that girl, too nosy always having to be in everyones business. He was surprsied she was still around. When he had met her right off he had wanted to squeeze her neck till her eyes pop.
"Brooklyn will be tricky"he said. He was friends with spot to say the least. It was more of a respected way, definately not like how he and Jack were. No they were respecting, got each others backs, kind of friends. At least as fellow leader/newsies they were. N ow they were neither...
"He may just have to be dealt with head on"he remarked. "Or find his weakness..."He looked at Mike. "Do you know his weakness yet?"

Mike watched as Cole seemed to be thinking all this information over. It was a loud of stuff and Mike hoped it was worth it. He'd done his research and had worked hard for it. If you count flirting with guys and wooing them until they told you what you wanted hard work.
Mike hesitated. Jinks had never said she was on his side, but he was pretty sure. "She talked about how much she hated Jack and how she wanted to get revenge..." Mike shrugged. "I told her I could help her with that..." Mike paused and rubbed the back of his neck. "Then she passed out." He never had gotten to talk to Jinks after that meeting, Jack had made sure of that.
Mike raised his eyebrows. "So, you don't want the pleasure of dealing with Miss Jacobs?" He chuckled and smirked. Mike didn't know much about Sarah, but he did have the impression that she was a stuck up snob. Mike hated people like that.
"Chick? You and Daphne not getting along?" He inquired playfully. When Mike had introduced them, their personalities had seemed to clash. It amused him. Mike, personally, thought Daphne was brilliant. She was beautiful and charming, no doubt catching the eyes of many newsies. She could weasel her way in and find out their dirty little secrets.
Mike thought for a moment about Harlem and Bronx. It all seemed to rely on Star... but he still hadn't talked to her. "So, you've met?" Maybe Cole could deal with her. Mike already had a lot on his plate.
Mike thought for a moment, "Well, I was talking to Daphne about taking Brooklyn. Ya know Spot, he will probably take interest in her...What do you think about that?" He was curious. Daphne seemed excited about the idea, she wanted an adventure as she said.
Mike shook his head, "Spot is a rock..."

"Yes well what a person says while they are drunk and what they will do when they are not, are two different things'He said. "They are related/ You may want to find out for sure, we cant afford to have loose ends."He said firmly.
Cole thought a moment and then loooked up. "on second thought... Maybe I will"He said using his index finger to tap against his chin. "Yes, I think I will deal with Miss Jacobs, but if she doesnt take to me, shes all yours"He pointed to him. He wasnt sure exactly how it would turn out, but he wasnt one to lose at anything he did, especially wooing. His brother was a rake at it. He overly flirted himself around with the females and even though Cole did not do that, he still was pretty good with the ladies when he wanted to be.
Cole grunted a bit. "Yes, that chit, daphne you've brought on to be the spy. I wouldnt say we dont click" he quirked a brow. "Shes quite.. delightful"He said with heavy sarcasm. He shook his head. "That is besides the point, she has what we need to wrap the majority of the newsies around her little finger."
"hmm.. yeah, we've met"Cole snarled his lip a bit. "I wouldnt let me near her.... or more like deal with her on a personal basis unless its to knock her around."He dropped his hand to his knee and drummed them against the fabric of his pants. "I am not much of an admirer of hers"
Cole grunted. "Shes quite full of herself isnt she"he said. "Let her have at it. Id like to see if she can crack Spot. Who knows, she just may surprise me... then again I might not be surprsied if she did either.'

Mike nodded, already planning how he was going to go about this. There was one problem. "Well, I think Jack has been watching her really closely..." Mike began. "When I brought her home drunk, he was pretty upset.." Mike laughed, still picturing Jack's expression in his mind.
Mike chuckle and nodded. "I'm sure you'll do wonders..." Mike joked. Sarah probably would fall for him. It would be a site, a snob with Cole. That just didn't seem to fit in Mike's mind.
Mike laughed, enjoying the expression on Cole's face. He would have to ask Daphne later about her thoughts on this subject. He nodded and said, "I think she'll do fine.." Mike had faith in her, even if Cole didn't.
Mike laughed and said, "Well, what should I do with her?" Mike didn't know much about Star, and from what Cole said, didn't look forward to meeting her. She sounded like one of those girls that had no idea what they were doing. Why they were newsies, he would never know.
Mike scoffed and said, "We will see. I don't know what else to do with Brooklyn..

"Mm.. well then. Be careful"He said and sirked. "jack will surely enjoy it later when he finds out exactly whats been going on with his sister and you"He said. Being backstabbed by your sibling would be horrid for him, he was sure.
"mm.. you think so." It was dry sarcasm and he rolled his eyes a bit. Not at Mike but at the the thought of Sarah. girls like her gave him a headache. He could deal with it though as long as he could get her on their side. How hard could it be right?
"oh im sure she will. A natural born actress"he replied dryly and then shook his head, shaking any thoughts of her out. He didnt want to think of that righ tnow. He turned back to MIke, listening to the rest of what he had to say.
He scowled. "Fine... Ill talk to her'He really didnt want to. "Theres nothing much else.. "He rubbed his chin and then smirked. "Wait I may have an idea for her'He said. "I know someone... maybe he can charm her. Even if she is with that guy, note or whatever hes called. Temptation is temptation"he nodded firmly. No body was a saint.
"as for brookln, we'll save them for last. Lets focus on what we have right now"

Mike chuckled and nodded. "I'm sure it'll be interesting when he finds out exactly what happened." He shook his head and chuckled again. Jack was sure to have a freak when he found out what Jinks was actually doing in her free time. And what would he think about Sarah? What would happen when Mike or Cole approached her? She would fall for one of them, no doubt, but what would Jack do? Jealousy was a sure emotion and hopefully that would distract him.
"So, I've heard something about Jinks and Spot?" Mike had heard that Jinks had a thing for Spot, and maybe vise versa. If this was true, Jinks could be used against Brooklyn as well. That would be amazing. But for the great Spot Conlon to go after someone like Jinks.... She was 14! But it was worth a shot.
"If you get her on your side, Jack will be quite jealous. That would work to our advantage. And then there's David...." Sarah was one of those people that was in middle of everything without knowing they were. She was in serious danger, and she didn't even know it. Basically, she was an air head. Mike hated girls like that.
"Hmmm, who?" Mike inquired, raising his eyebrows. Whoever they could get on their side was a plus. Mike didn't know much about Bronx, but that Mitch was back and Star had stepped down as leader. Mitch was a good opportunity. Maybe they could get him on their side. Bronx was known to cause trouble.
Mike nodded. "I agree. Daphne will hopefully have an effect there, but we will see."
