((Dr Grayson is fashioned after the fictional character of Dr. Daniel Jackson from the TV show Stargate SG1. No Claiming here - just admiration of the character. ))
Full Name: Doctor Daniel Creek Grayson
Newsie name: Nickname: Doc. Red skin. Injun.
Name origin: He's...Umm...A Doctor...and a native American.
Age: 25
Gender: MALE
Birthplace:Montana
Currently Living: Brooklyn, NY
History:
His mother's name was Swift Creek. She was a Crow Indian. She was a true native of America and especially Montana. She fell in love with a young man seeking his fortune. A sandy haired, freckled young man named Charley Grayson left his home in NY to find a life out west, but found a lovely dark haired Crow Indian instead. They were married, and they had a son.
Their son, Daniel (Named after Charley's father) Creek (Charley's pet name for his wife) grew up with a bit of both cultures. An old college professor from A British university soon found himself the same fate, and decided to settle down near them. He taught Daniel everything he could in the 17 years that he had with him until he died. He got an education. But he was also educated in the Crow ways. His mother passed away from a bad untreated case of worms when he was 15. He and his father mourned for her, but had learned from living their to get on with their lives and to be strong.
At age 18, just before the professor died, he put in a good word for Daniel in a local medical/archeology school, and Daniel attended, gaining his Doctor's degree in less then 3 years.
When Daniel was 21, Charley gave Daniel his mothers most prized possession (A small, key chain sized dream catcher with little bits of silver beads entwined onto the strings), some money, a horse, and then a sack of food that would last him until he had made it across the country. He told him to ride to NY and find a good job for himself. He knew that he was sending the cowboy from the country and into the city where he would be a lost lamb, but he also knew that his time was coming to leave the world.
So, Daniel went to NY. It was a hard first few months, but he gradually began to get used to the crowded, dirty streets and poverty. He found a good job at the local Brooklyn Museum as the head of the archeology department (they found him to have the most excellent resume) and has been working their ever since.
Hair Color: Light brown
Hair Style: short, sticks up a bit on its own in the front
Eye Color: light brown - glasses when reading
Skin Color: tanned
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 135 lbs
Clothing Style: Much to the amusement of the rest of NY, he wears brown pants, moccasins made by his mother, and a rawhide stripped jacket. Thats casual. When formal - he wears brown pants, a white shirt, and a loose blue tie. He still wears the moccasins.
Items owned: His dream catcher made by his mother, moccasins, a silver lighter from his father, and a black cowboy hat from his father.
Troubles: He is a bit scatter brained, and has no idea how to talk to women.
Fears: Some would say women, some would say love itself. I saw both though.
Siblings: none
Parents: Charley and Swift Creek Grayson
Some Quotes from Daniel to help you discern his character:
"Oh, he's dead. He's definitely dead. I mean...the bomb...I mean, he's got to be dead, right?"
"And we can't kill him, either." Everyone stares at him, shocked by his suggestion. "I wasn't considering it, I was just stating a fact..."
"Oh, it's just a deep, bleeding gash but it'll be fine."
"Headache. Bad headache."
"This vase looks like it could be an antiquity from the Victorian era! Priceless!" someone bumps him and he drops the vase. "...Was..."
