Full Name: Isaac Montgomery
Newsie name: Cain
Name origin: Cain is what many people have called him once they know of his past. He doesn't expect it to stop any time soon.
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Richmond, Virginia
Currently Living: New York City
History: Isaac is a Hebrew name which means, "He will laugh." Born in Virginia and raised in New Jersey to a devout Christian family, Isaac and his brother Seth were raised to those standards. Their parents, Margaret and Luke, were convinced by the time the boys were twelve years old they had succeeded in raising two wonderful, pious boys. Unknowingly, however, they made Seth their favorite child, pampering and fawning over him while Isaac was largely ignored. Thus, they didn't notice the fact that Isaac was beginning to change. His temper flared often, he prayed less, and he even got into violent fights with his brother. Mild-mannered Seth wouldn't mention it to his parents.
There came a day where fifteen-year-old Seth and seventeen-year-old Isaac got into a fierce argument in their bedroom, where Isaac insisted his brother was trying to upstage him. The argument raged, the intensity rising, until in a fit of rage, Isaac picked up a heavy candlestick and beat his brother to death. After Seth was dead, Isaac left the candlestick beside the body, went into the parlor and read the Bible. When he reached Genesis 4:8, he chuckled quietly to himself.
When his parents returned home from a dinner with colleagues, they found Isaac still reading the Bible in the parlor. Margaret asked, "Where is your brother?" At the irony, Isaac laughed aloud and replied right out of Genesis, "I don't know. Am I my brother's keeper?" It didn't take long for his parents to discover what he had done, and they went into a hysterical state of sorrow. They condemned their oldest son to be as Cain: cursed and shunned among men, destined to live as a fugitive in guilt and shame.
Isaac left his house only a few hours later, knowing that his parents would go and find the authorities as soon as their grief subsided. He took with him only a few possessions, also thinking to steal his father's horse and carriage, and was out of town by the time his parents got to the police station.
A few weeks later, Isaac found himself in New York City, where he decided he didn't need to go any further. He sold his father's horse and carriage for a good sum of money, and uses it whenever he can, always keeping it well-hidden on his person. He found a place to stay in Midtown, among a shifty bunch. However, he supposed that his parents got what they wanted: Isaac now lived as a fugitive, with other outcasts.
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: Short and curled
Eye Color: Gray
Skin Color: Pale
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 145
Clothing Style: Isaac wears shoes, trousers, and a shirt, tie and vest. Although his clothes would normally bespeak a gentleman, they are threadbare and ragged, and he usually leaves the vest or tie undone and bunches the sleeves to his elbows.
Items owned: Nothing of value.
Troubles: Although murdering his brother left him largely without conscience, Isaac keeps his religious ways, even in Midtown. He finds himself praying often, but he finds that he can never bring himself to ask for forgiveness, and never changes his ways. Isaac has become hard-hearted and brutal, one who can accept those who he must live with but shuns everyone else. He dreams that one day that he, as his name suggests, will have the last laugh once more.
Fears: Isaac worried about his past catching up with him, and he also has a fear of Hell, which he knows isn't too far out of reach.
Siblings: Seth Montgomery, 15 (Deceased)
Parents: Luke and Margaret Montgomery (Unknown)
