History: Star and her twin sister were born in Italy, to the parents Carlo and Lia Russo. When Star and Moon were 5 years old there parents brought them to new York. The family was poor, so they left Star and Moon on the steps of the Queens orphanage.
When the twins were 12 they escaped the orphanage, because the lady that ran the orphanage said that there uncle was gonna come and pick them up. The twins hated there uncle so much, even though they didn't know him, they heard so much bad stuff about him.
The twins had been sleeping on the streets for 1 year, and they just ended up in front of the Queens Lodging House, which gave Star an idea....they could become Queens newsies, and so they did.
