((I'm REALLY bashing the Mayor in her History, and if anyone hasa problem with it or thinks something needs to be changed, PM me.

Full Name: Jezabelle Nadine Van Wyck
Newsie name: Jez
Name origin: She hates her full name and doesn't want anyone to know that she is a "Van Wyck", so she only goes by her first 3 letters of her name.
Age: 16

Birthplace: Brooklyn, New York
Currently Living: Brooklyn, New York
History: Unbeknown to his wife, Mayor Van Wyck had been making frequent visits to his secretaries house. Amelia Jameson, the young, beautiful girl that worked for the Mayor of New York, was terrified of losing her job or worse, if she didn't comply to the wishes of the Mayor. He was, as you may have surmised, sexually active with Amelia. One day, Amelia found out that she was pregnant. She told Mayor Van Wyck, and he fired her out of fear of what he might look like if his secretary was found pregnant.
Amelia wandered the streets and disappeared into the NY scene for a while. That is - until she had her child. She did not name the baby girl, but instead gave her the locket that had been her great grandmothers. Inscribed inside it was her grandmothers name, "Jezabelle Nadine". After five years had gone by, Amelia couldn't live with herself anymore. Not thinking of her unnamed 5 year old girl, she committed Suicide (Jumped off of the Brooklyn Bridge). Her last words to her daughter were, "Van Wyck is your father." She remembered those words forever.
She was found wandering the streets and taken to an Orphanage. They named her Jezabelle Nadine (because of the locket). She ran away at age 10 after having gotten into trouble and found her way to the newsies lodging house in Brooklyn. Jez, as she now called herself, watched them for a few days and learned how they did things, and then she sold with them one day. One nice newsboy helped her along and she soon toughened up more than she was already.
She always keeps to herself and seldom talks to anyone about her past. She respects her leader, but sometimes wishes she could just soak him. She is a very good shot with her slingshot and whatever happens to find its way into it, and has a real mean temper. She is more of a boy than she is a girl - though she does wear her tattered Skirt. All in all, Jez fits in very well with the Brooklyn Newsies.
