Twich walked down the rows and rows of books Letting his fingers drag across every spine. he had never seen so many book. He pulled one out and skimmed through the pages. It was then, that he realized he couldn't read. He sighed and looked for one with more pictures than words .
He found one. It was a book of political cartoons, he flipped through pages, and to his surprise, understood everyone of them. He looked at the price, 50 cents. For the first time in his life, Twich actually had money to spend. He walked to the checkout, the two dollar bill nestled proudly in his pocket.

Cowgirl walked into the store and sighed as she fixed her cowgirl hat on her head and looked over at the counter to see a boy, he looked like a newsie, but she wasn't sure. She liked to know the newsies around where she went so she went up to the counter to ask where she could find a specific book title so she could see if maybe he would talk to her.
"Excuse me, uh where can I find da poetry section?"she asked the lady at the counter, the lady looked at her,"last row on the left shelf,"the lady replied.

Twich tried to get the money out of his pocket. It wasn't there, but a hole was. He blinked back tears and turrned to put the book back on the shelf.
When he turrned, he acidently ran into the girl behind his. "Oh, I-I-Im s-s-so s-s-sorry" he stuttered as he fell back.

She looked him up and down for a moment, he looked sweet, and he was attractive too, she smiled,"my name's Cowgirl by the way,"she added offering her hand to him.

Cowgirl smiled,"no problem....uh....so do I get ta know yer name at least?"she asked again thinking he may not have heard her the first time. She took her hat off and held it in her hand as she ran her free hand through her silky black hair and looked at him still.

He slowly begain to look up at her.
"Oh, r-r-right, Twich" he dug at the hole in his ragged pants and sighed, it was his last pair of pants. He thought about returning the book the girl had bought him once she left and useing the money for some pants, but then again, he really wanted that book...
