Lips was in the park she just got done selling all of her newspapers and was counting how much she made today. She kept losing count; math was never her strong point. "GRR," she yelled out making some little kids jump about a foot into the air.
She started all over again for the tenth time in a row. "Stupid math! Why do we have math it's a pain in the you know what." she said to the trees.

Stress. Stress would be a good word on how to describe how Mike felt. He felt stressed, he had been hearing rumors that the number of people on Jack's side was growing day by day. That made him nervous, even though he would hate to admit it. Mike was supposed to appear as tough, and strong. Not weak and vulnerable. Every time he felt those feelings, he missed his parents. That would always make the little flicker of anger he had inside of him roar into a blazing fire.
Mike had a short temper.
"GRR,"
Speaking of short tempers, he saw Lips; a girl he worked with at the ranch. She annoyed him, but he tried not to let her get under his skin. Even though that seemed nearly impossible. He decided that it wouldn't hurt to push her buttons, and annoy her just a bit. That was a true test in life if you could handle someone annoying you on purpose. He smirked and walked over to her, semi hiding behind a tree.
"Stupid math! Why do we have math it's a pain in the you know what."
Rolling his eyes he said, "Do you know what else is a pain?" He said, as he stepped out in front of her. "People who talk to trees." He said with a smirk. "Are you really that lonely?" He folded his arms across his chest, and awaited her reaction. She could scream, cry, and yell all she wanted. He just relived some stress.

"Do you know what else is a pain? People who talk to trees."
She looked and saw Mike, she met him when she started at the ranch and he was so annoying there. He wouldn't stop bugging her and she almost went crazy! She couldn't stand him at all! She rolled her eyes at him; she does that a lot when he's around.
"What are you doing here?" she asked as she looked back down at her money. "Shouldn't you be taking over the world or something?" she asked and laughed at it. She always thought it was funny when he told her that he wanted to rule the newsies. It was just funny to her; Jack probably thinks it's funny too.
"Or be at that dump Midtown." said Lips looking at him, she loves making fun of Mike's place he always got so mad! It was entertaining and she needed someone to entertain her other than counting this money.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be taking over the world or something?"
Mike grunted at her lame excuse for an insult. "Shouldn't you be cleaning up horse poop?" Mike smirked and raised his eyebrows. He used to work at the Reed Ranch with Lips, that is how they met; but ever since he quit, Mike made it a point to insult Lips about the work there. It wasn't exactly the best work there was. It wasn't exactly an insult as much as it was a question. Why was she here and not at work? Did she get fired already? Mike chuckled at his own thoughts.
"Or be at that dump Midtown."
Mike rolled his eyes. Then he shrugged, nonchalant. "At least I have my own place." From what Mike knew, Lips didn't have anywhere to live. So far, all he knew was that she was staying at a lodging house. She wasn't a newsies thought, which didn't really make sense to Mike, but whatever. Her whereabouts didn't concern Mike.
{That was really short, sorry}

"Shouldn't you be cleaning up horse poop?"
Lips glared at him, they used to work together but then Mike quite and she was left with out anyone to bother. "Done and done," she said as she put the money back in her dress pocket. "So shouldn't you be killing a newsie?" she asked him and raised an eyebrow.
"At least I have my own place."
That one got to Lips, "Oh well I don't have a roof over my head big deal." she said and got up from the bench. She didn't stay at the lodging house, she never wanted to. She liked getting up at a time she wanted to so she slept on the streets, different streets. "How is taking over the newsies going for you; Are you getting tired of it yet?" she asked not really caring, she was on Mike's side threw the entire thing, but she could careless if his plans were going well or not.
[It's not long but I couldn't think of anything else to type, sorry.]

"Done and done,"
Mike raised his eyebrows and looked at her curiously. "Okay..." he breathed. Lips was so weird. Long ago Mike had given up figuring her out. She was always making random remarks and comments. Mike barely understood half of them and the half that he did understand made him pause. He seriously had to think really hard when he was around Lips. It wasn't because her comments were witty or anything, just really confusing. "Your bloody confusing."
"So shouldn't you be killing a newsie?"
Mike pressed his lips into a thin line. How did she know all of this? She wasn't even a full time newsie. But whatever, Mike choose to not let her words affect him. "Shouldn't you be minding your own bloody business?" Mike inquired. It wasn't even a witty comeback. He was simply stating the truth. She should be minding her own business. Someday, she was going to get herself in trouble.
"Oh well I don't have a roof over my head big deal."
Mike scoffed and rolled his eyes. She was in denial.
"How is taking over the newsies going for you; Are you getting tired of it yet?"
"No, the only thing I am getting tired of is you." She just wouldn't give up. Sometimes he enjoyed this little scrabbles with Lips, but sometimes he wanted her to just stop. She tried to get him where she thought it hurt, when it didn't even make Mike think twice. She needed to be more creative if she wanted to get Mike.

"Your bloody confusing."
"Yea tell me something I don't know," she said and started twirling a piece of hair around her finger. She loved making Mike confused it was the funniest thing in the world; it was like a hobby of hers.
"Shouldn't you be minding your own bloody business?"
Lips smirked "Nice comeback," she said, "and minding my own business isn't that fun. I like listening to the rumors going around the streets." she said and kept the smirk on her face. Her lips were full of secrets and that's how she loved it she knew more things than anyone else.
"No, the only thing I am getting tired of is you." "Oh come on Mike you don't mean that," she said pinching his cheek like he was a little child trying to act tuff. She loved trying to get Mike mad it was the funniest thing that she ever did. "You know you never get tired of me. You know you love having me around." she said now ruffling his hair, she loved treating him like he was a four year old boy. She always tried to picture Mike as a four year old but she always made him have a smile on his face.

"Yea tell me something I don't know,"
Mike raised his eyebrows. "Did you just openly admit to being confusing?" Mike was even more confused. But he wasn't really trying to think to hard, she wasn't worth it. He brought a hand to his head and rubbed his temples. He was tired and Lips was not helping. Why did he talk to Lips in the first place? Oh right, because he wanted to annoy her. But now she was just doing that to him.
"Nice comeback,"
Mike smirked, "Why, thank you." He wasn't even going to let her know how annoying she was getting. He was just going to pretend that he was fine. She wasn't even worth getting upset over. In a few minutes, she would get angry and stomped off. All Mike had to do was make her mad in the first place.
"and minding my own business isn't that fun. I like listening to the rumors going around the streets."
Mike rolled his eyes. He wanted to call her a numerous amount of names right now. He controlled his tongue, though, knowing it would only start a war of words between them. "That could get you in a lot of trouble, ya know?" Mike scoffed and turned away from her. Like he cared.
"Oh come on Mike you don't mean that," she said pinching his cheek like he was a little child trying to act tuff. "You know you never get tired of me. You know you love having me around." she said now ruffling his hair.
Instead of flinching and pulling away, like she expected him to, Mike smirked. In one swift motion he had her wrist in his hand and had pulled her closer to him. "If you wanted physical contact, you could have just told me." He winked at her, knowing this should send her off the edge.

"Did you just openly admit to being confusing?"
Lips laughed a bit, "Yes I did," she said she loved confusing him it was just so fun to do. She had a feeling he was getting a tiny bit mad, if not more. It was just too great she, for once, is happy that he talked to her brightened up my day; he doesn’t do that too much.
"Why, thank you."
"You're welcome," she said and noticed he was being a bit nicer than what he usually is, "Is it just me or are you being nice to me?" she asked she was kind of upset that he wasn't fighting back, she's not going to admit it, but still it was their special thing.
"That could get you in a lot of trouble, ya know?"
She smirked and whispered in his ear, "Exactly why I do it," she said. It was really fun to get into trouble, sometimes, it was something she can do really well; well she gets in trouble with Mike all the time and that's what really is fun. “You know you listen to all the gossip that’s going around too.” She said not really knowing if it was true or not. She would think it was since he is an evil man that wants to take over the newsies’ world.
"If you wanted physical contact, you could have just told me."
She hated it when men did that, always thinking that a girl wanted them when they just think they're pigs! She glared and rolled her eyes at him but decided to go along with the game she didn't have anywhere to go anytime soon. "Well I thought you'd didn't like physical contact Mike," she said and wrapped her arms around his neck.
