Fable was talking about something involving a young boy and their crazy night together. Sarah was laughing so hard that she cried. This is why she loved Fable so much. She could always make her laugh and vise versa. They just fit together and knew each other perfectly.
Sarah and Fable walked arm in arm along the street. They had planned this day about a week in advanced and were now fulfilling their plans. They were going to shop and then get some lunch and maybe shop some more.
Sarah took off her bonnet and put it in her basket. True, it was improper, but she didn't care. She felt contained and choked in that thing. A few strands of hair hung in her face after falling from the tight bun her mother had painfully styled on her head.
She glanced and Fable and laughed at her wild arm movements. She was so entertaining when it came to stories and this was no different. She listened as Fable talked about this boy she had spent the night with... in a warehouse none the less. Fable had yet to mention his name and she was curious.

Fabel laughed as Sarah pulled her along through the bustling people. She had been waiting for a chance to spend some time with a feminine female, especially one that was her best friend, and Sarah had brought up the perfect opportunity by going shopping. Sarah seemed to be one of the only people she could really talk to. She felt secure around her, and knew that she could tell her anything without fear of judgment or cruelty. She trusted her, and that was why she was recalling an event that had happened a few days back.
Sarah had asked why she was limping, and Fabel had blushed at the memory of how it had happened. That, of course, had prodded Sarah into persuading Fabel to tell the story. Fabel’s feet scuffed the ground as she continued on with her story;
“Nothing happened…Well, not at first…” she said, glancing sideways at Sarah to see her reaction. She had already told her about how a random boy had saved her numerous times in one day, she had been cut by a broken bottle, and then they had spent the night together in a warehouse. She wasn’t finished…
“Swear you won’t tell anyone…” She started, “But…We kissed…” and then she added quickly, “Oh isn’t that a nice dress…I wish I could afford it.” She mused, trying to rid the blush that had crept into her cheeks.
Fabel suddenly realized that Sarah was Jack's girl. Jack was the leader of Manhattan, and Race Track was a Manhattan Newsie...She would more than likely tell Jack, and then Fabel wasn't quite sure what Jack would do. Would he tell Race that she had been talking about him for the past two hours? Fabel wasn't sure how she felt about the prospect of Jack telling Race...It could be good, but then it could be bad. Events would just have to play out, she supposed.

Sarah grinned as Fable started to shuffle along. "Would you stop pouting?" She chuckled and nudged her playfully with her hip. Winking at her playfully, she said, "Continue..." Sarah was very curious about this mystery boy who had somehow attracted Fable attention. Fable seemed like the kind of girl that would not fall easily for a guy. This boy must have been pretty special to attract Fable's attention.
“Nothing happened…Well, not at first…”
Sarah raised her eyebrows. "Not at first...?" Her voice had a tone to it that said, 'You better tell me,' and she meant it. She had no doubt that Fable would tell her, but was defiantly getting impatient. Fable glanced around, almost like she was looking for this mystery boy. Maybe she was worried about who would hear her. Sarah sighed loudly, trying to tell Fable she was ready to be told what was going on.
“Swear you won’t tell anyone…” She started, “But…We kissed…”
Being a girl, Sarah squealed. "Oh my! Tell me everything!" By now she was jumping up and down slightly and probably looked like a foul. But, see, this is what girls do. They get excited over small things like this. Well, this wasn't a small thing actually. Sarah remembered Fable sharing with her that it was her first kiss and that was a big thing. "Oh my goodness! That was your first kiss wasn't it?!?" She lowered her voice slightly, realizing how unlady like she was acting.
“Oh isn’t that a nice dress…I wish I could afford it.”
Sarah rolled her eyes as Fable changed the subject. She glanced around quickly and looked for somewhere to sit. Seeing a bench across the street, Sarah smiled. "Come one," She looked at Fable and grinned playfully. "You are such a girl. You are getting distracted by the pretty things..." She laughed and pulled Fable along with her until the reached the bench. She realized Fable had been protesting, but truly didn't care. Fable was going to tell her about this boy if it killed her.
"So, tell me more..." Sarah raised her eyebrows and sat down next to Fable, who was still pouting. "And quit pouting!" She looked at Fable hard and then laughed.

(lovely post! ) "Oh my! Tell me everything!" "Oh my goodness! That was your first kiss wasn't it?!?"Fabel jumped, quite surprised at her friends enthusiastic outburst. She glanced around, checking to see if anyone had heard Sarah. A few old ladies were staring (one had actually dropped her basket and was gaping, open mouthed) and Fabel gave them an awkward, half smile that seemed to say I dont know that girl...All she could manage to say was, "Erm..Yes.." in response to Sarah's question. "Come one," "You are such a girl. You are getting distracted by the pretty things..." "I - " Fabel started but was cut off as she was dragged over to a bench. She laughed at Sarah's tactic on keeping her mind from wandering by bringing her to a bench where there was nothing completely in view. "So, tell me more..." "And quit pouting!"Fabel threw her hands up in the air after sitting down. "All right! You win!" she exclaimed grinning. What could she tell her that she hadn't already related? That she had fallen head over heels for this boy? Maybe... She paused for a moment, trying to regain control of her thoughts. "Well," she began, "I think I really like him..." she stated, much more confidently than she felt.

"All right! You win!"
Sarah smiled triumphantly. "I knew I would..." Her smile grew bigger as Fable sat down and seemed to think of the right words to say. Sarah was very ready to hear about his boy. Fable was such an intresting person that you would have to do something really intersting to get her attention.
"Well," she began, "I think I really like him..."
Sarah bit her lip and grinned. This was serious. Fable really liking someone? Wow! She chuckled at her own thoughts and continued to think. She was very blessed to have a friend like Fable. Someone to talk to and be able to act silly around without being called un ladylike. Her mind slowly went back to this boy. Is he from Manhattan? Or maybe Harlem? Is he a newsie? All these questions would be answered with this simple question.
"So, who is he?"
((not very good))

"So, who is he?"
Fabel paused and bit her lip. She began to play with the frayed hem of her dress, in an attempt to distract herself again. A sharp prodding by Sarah soon brought her back to her senses though. Ever since she had met him, her mind had been all fuzzy and confused. She had been having trouble concentrating on her stories, and people were noticing. When she didn't tell a good story, she didn't get money. When she didn't get money, she didn't get a meal. Not getting enough meals in the past few days was beginning to show, as she was getting thinner.
Instead of telling Sarah straight out who the mystery guy was, she decided to just give her hints, and let her figure it out herself.
"He's one of your lover's newsies.." she began grinning. "I wont say anymore - ask the right questions and I will either say 'yes' or 'no'." she said smirking. She loved doing this sort of thing - making people think was one of her specialties.
((Sorry so short!))

Sarah made a face at Fabel and sighed. She looked at her for a moment longer and then sighed again. She looked away from Fabel and once more sighed. She wanted Fabel to know that she was not enjoying this guessing game. Yes, she loved Fabel, but she wasn't in the mood to play games.
So, a Manhattan newsie. Sarah started to think about who it could be. She had to laugh at this thought. "One of Jack's newsies!?" She continued to laugh as Fabels face turned cold. Sarah really couldn't help but laugh. Sarah loved all of Jack's newsies, but she couldn't imagine Fabel with any of them.
She continued to think of who it could be. She thought of all the boys that were popular among the girls. "Does he have an eye patch?" Kid blink didn't seem lke Fabel's type, but she had to start somewhere.

Fabel whacked Sarah playfully on the arm as she sighed, not once, but three times. "One of Jack's newsies!?" Fabel grinned, "Uh-hu.." she said slowly, "I thought I said that..." she added teasingly. "Does he have an eye patch?"Fabel thought for a moment before answering, trying to picture who she could be talking about. She wasn't in Manhattan all that much, and only knew a few of the newsies there. She couldn't recall one with an eye patch. "Nope." she shook her head. ((Wow..crappy post, but theres not much I can say.. ))

Sarah, who had been looking at her friend, now rolled her eyes and looked forward. Quiet unlady like, Sarah slumped against the bench. "Why won't you just tell me?" Sarah wined and glanced at her friend from the corner of her eye. From the look on her face, Sarah could only guess what was coming.
Figuring Fabel was not going to tell her, Sarah continued to think about who it might be. Sarah had spent many days with Jack's newsies and knew them quiet well. There were only a few that Sarah thought could attract Fabel's attention. They were: Kid Blink, which was a no considering the last answer, Mush, Skittery, and Racetrack.
They reasons Sarah thought these boys might be possibilites were as followed.
Kid Blink was sweet and kind. Someone who would rather go without food then to see one of his friends starve. His attitude and personality was very close to Fabel's and they acted somewhat the same. Sarah had always thought they would go well together, but now considering it further, she realized that it would never be, espesically after Fabel's answer to her last question.
Mush was a ladies man, but that was not the reason Sarah even considered him for Fabel. Mush just seemed like the kind of guy for Fabel. But the fact that he was such a ladies man might turn Fabel away.
Skittery was so hot tempered and moody, that it seemed that only Fabel might be able to cool him. Fabel was the kind of person that could calm anyone with her words. She had such a way with words that you couldn't help but want to listen. Skittery and Fabel might be somewhat made for each other, but Sarah still couldn't picture it.
Racetrack, well Race was Race. Sarah had immediatly taken a liking to him because of his loud mouth, short tempered, and all around funny personality. Fabel and him would be cute together, but Sarah still could not see it. Race was a fun person and so was Fabel, but would they would be good for each other?
Sarah decided to start from the beginning. "Okay, does he have curly, brown hair?" She looked at Fabel and had a crooked grin on her face.
