Friends, Tension. I first met you upon moving to the Manhattan Lodging House. We did not get off to the best start: I was convinced you were a cocky ass and you were equally convinced I was a self-obsessed brat. Getting off on the wrong foot led me to believe that you were nothing more than a little man with a big head and I'm sure you had similarly negative feelings towards myself. In fact, until recently, I would only refer to you as “Mr. Kelly”, something I am sure you found painfully amusing. Months passed and realizing I had to deal with my current undesirable circumstances, I no longer thought it in my best interest to ostracize the one person with the most influence over the Manhattan newsies. Swallowing my pride, I found myself beginning to warm up to you and your leadership. Time has done us well, though, and we no longer find one another quite so intolerable. Though our interactions might suggest otherwise, I have a great deal of respect for you and your ability to lead. While I would just as soon avoid any conflict within the newsie profession, I would remain loyal to you nevertheless (unless you made a truly idiotic decision and, if you did, I would certainly let you know). Seeing as we are both stubborn by nature, we are still prone to many an argument, petty or otherwise. Still, I value your friendship and have become fond of your somewhat cocky self.

Name: Bella Anne Braxton Age:17 Applying for: One True Love How we met: I came to your spot to sell one day, and showed ya a girl could be a newsie. The moment our eyes met, we knew we had somethin' real special. Da Delancy's started giving me grief, and right away ya stepped in to protect me, and we took the two of 'em on together. We started talkin, and you introduced me to the boys. You saw how good a newsie I was, and asked me to sell wit' ya. Course I said yes We was always so much alike. We were both dreamers, longin to find our place in the world. I told ya everythin' Cowboy. You were the only one I trusted with my true identity. You were even willin' to fight Camden for me. You'd always said we was meant for eachother. We were two hearts, wit one dream. Where we met: Just outside the Manhattan Loging House A notable memory: * Beaming* Our first kiss up on the rooftop... Above da city lights. The song still lives in my heart. It's a night I'll remeber until my dyin' day.
