Mush walked down the streets with forty papers, his usual amount. He couldn't wait to tell the rest of the guys his plans for tonight. He had a date with a pretty young lady named Sally. He grinned to himself as he thought about what they were going to do, a walk in the park. That was a nice first date, right? He was almost about to burst with the excitement and anticipation. All he had to do was get through the day, and make it to six o' clock. He glanced up at the sun to see what time it was, it had to of been at least nine. He sighed, how could he make it? He had to tell someone, it didn't matter if he knew them or not. He found an older gentleman reading a paper and waiting for the trolley. He innocently strolled over to him.
"'Scuse me sir." He said, "Can I tell ya somethin'?" The older man jumped, obviously started by Mush. Mush didn't wait for an answer, he began to tell him about his plans. "So you see, I met this goil last night, and now we're going out tonight." He beamed, "You should see her sir, she's probably the prettiest thing you've ever seen!" The older man was still startled by Mush's sudden appearance that he was almost trembling. Mush paused and took a deep breath before he told the rest of his story. That's when another girl walked by and caught his eye. His gaze followed her as she walked down the streets. He blinked twice, "Sorry for buggin' you sir, thanks for listenin'." He said before he ran off to follow the girl.
Besides, what Sally didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
