One night there was a fire inside their small apartment building started down the hall by a man falling asleep with a candle. It gutted the whole building, killing her mother, leaving her father alone to raise her. She had no silbings and he took her with him when he left the area.
He joined one of the many gangs in the area for protection and continued his work. One night while out with the gangs he was gunned down in a terrible way leaving Sophie all alone. That was about four months ago. Her father left her an inheritance but it didn't seem to be enough. She's a stickler and a bit of a miser when it comes to money so she's done well on her own.
