Unfortunately that did not happen, Starsage's parents had to work the majority of her young life and she was left to fend for herself. Her parents were very eccentric and having the young Zaira almost ruined their crazy lifestyle. Her father didn't show an ounce of attention to her, and her mother tried to care for her. When she was fifteen Zaira became sick of her life, she knew she was a burden to her family, and hated herself because of that. One night when her parents were out she attacked herself with a knife. Her mother came home early to see Zaira on the floor in a pool of blood. She panicked, and called a doctor. Zaira was still alive. The neighborhood knew that the Bowman's didn't care for her, and Wilhelmina, her mother, knew that. She knew that rumors would be flying around saying that she killed her daughter. That night, she kicked Zaira out on the streets.
Zaira had always loved music, and performs on the street for money. That's how she stays alive, even though at times she wished she would be dead. Her nickname became Starsage because of her passion for performing.
