I got rhythm!
In my feet!
I got rhythm in my heart and soul!
I got rhythm
Hot and sweet
Sometimes rhythm makes me loose control!
Hotcha! Cha! CHOW!!
Oscar danced down the street, humming the rhythm. He didn't really even know the rhythm, he'd just heard that song before and it had popped into his head suddenly. Plus, he was in a good mood. Selling had been okay today. And on top of that, the newsies were in foul moods, which meant they were easy to pick on. It had been a good day, and Oscar just felt like singing. He did a little jig and continued to skip down the street. Morris scowled at him.
"Lighten up, Morris. Just because you lost count today.... again...doesn't mean you can be in a bad mood." Morris rolled his eyes and continued on, ignoring Oscar. Oscar stuck his tongue out childishly and continued to skip down the street toward Brooklyn. That is where they lived, Brooklyn. Well, sort of. It was still in Manhattan, but was just on the border of Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Oscar hoped his sister, Natalia, was home. She always brightened his mood. Morris was like a piece of dirt on a clean shirt. Or maybe a hair on a nice plate of food. Morris could ruin a perfectly good day with one word. Morris was the not the most fun to be around, to say the least. But Natalia, Nat, was Oscar's best friend. He was glad she was in his life, because without her Oscar would have no friends.
Unfortunately for all three of them, they were scabbers. They weren't highly favored among the newsies and really didn't have that many friends. Oscar didn't know about Natalia, but she was the one person he felt he could talk to. They recently found out that she was their half sister, but it didn't matter to Oscar. Morris was a little sour about it, but Morris just ate to many lemons. That was his problem.
They arrived at their apartment and Oscar barged in. "Nat! NATALIA! Nat! G-NAT!" Oscar purposely pronounced the silent G, making Morris roll his eyes.
