Blake leaned against the greely statue, his legs crossed at the bottom as he twirled his hat on his finger. "Stupid... stupid... .people"He mumbled rubbing his chin. Hed just run from brooklyn. His clothes looked dirty and were on the verge of recovery from wetness.
He may be a theif, and a good one at that, but that didnt mean he never got caught. In fact this happen to be one of those times. The guy hed bumped into had been the wrong sort of man, and he should have noticed that, but he'd been an idiot and of course was getting quite sloppy with who he was stealing from.
So the way it went down blake could have shot himself. When he had bumped into the guy and taken his money bag from him eh had... DROPPED IT!! What in the world posessed his fingers to become evil and work against him was beyond him. So you can guess what happened next. Yup thats right, the guy grabbed him and started hollaring for the police.
The guy had given blake the dirtiest look ever and things just went downhill from there. The policeman came over and of course the guy had a pretty little story to tell him and the next thing he knew he was getting tossed around and into the back of carriage for the refuge.
Thankfully Blake was not a complete idiot and he was dealing with one of the idiot officers. When hed let him out blake made him believe he'd lost his stick, when the guy looked down to check Blake pushed him as hard as he could and then took off.
Thats when his feet decided to become evil on him and he tripped falling down the stupid hill that landed into the river. Thankfully hed managed to grab onto a nearby branch from a fallen tree and pulled himself out. To make matters worse, as he was making his way over the train yards one of the damn dogs had gotten loose and he ended up having to run for his life and now he was here.
Even though hed had the bad luck the only thing he coud be grateful for, was the fact he managed to get out of each of the predicaments, but the day was not over, in fact it wasnt even one in the afternoon yet. Which we can all see where we're going with this.
"okay Blake.. we'll just stay here... and no. FOOD."He told himself. "last thing you need is to choke on something"He mumbled.

Today was one of those rare days that made Jack Kelly actually enjoy being a newsboy. The headline was every newsie's dream: "Famous Actor Murdered". With Jack's imagination, the actor had gone from murdered to lynched, and many other variations left Jack with one paper out of a hundred and close to two dollars in his pocket. He'd met up with a lot of his friends, and between borrowing a bit of food or two from most of them he wasn't hungry.
The square seemed a more welcoming place today. Jack came back to see if he could meet up with anyone and peddle his last paper, and saw a sad-looking kid leaning up against the statue. He recognized Blake after a moment, and his eyebrow went up in confusion. Blake was in a state...he looked like he'd been through a riot, or three. Jack walked up to him. "What happened to you?"

Blakes mind was going over what he would do today. He didnt want to be stuck there all day and yet he didnt want to have the rest of his day like it had been that morning, then again when did that stop him. He rubbed the back of his neck as he continued to decide what he was going to do. Though his thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice and he brought his gaze up to see Jack.
He smirked. "jacky boy...old... boy"He stopped and shook his head. "Nevermind, anyways"He grinned. 'how ya doing? Me Im just dandy... so"he said," 'headlines.. good? "He asked.. "or bad...? OR..."he shook his head. "whats new?" He took a breath, the questions coming one right after another with no room to respond... except now of course.
"Sorry.."He said. "but no really... go on"he hooked his hat up on the statue as he situated him a bit to look at Jack better.

"Jacky boy...old... boy. Nevermind, anyways. How ya doing? Me Im just dandy... so, headlines.. good? Or bad...? OR...whats new?"
Jack's eyebrow raised again. Blake seemed to be at a loss for words, which maybe was something new for him. Either that, or something or another had flustered him pretty bad. Jack knew that Blake was just trying to divert attention by questions that seemed innocent...it was a tactic Jack used often himself, and h wasn't about to be fooled by it. His curiosity over what had happened to Blake eclipsed his desire for any type of conversation. Jack shook his head. "Lousy day then, eh, buddy?"
"Sorry..but no really... go on"
Jack grinned a little, and rubbed the back of his neck. "Ya know, I'm a little more inna'rested in learnin' what happened to you than talkin' about m'self..." Jack was a lot of things, but vague often wasn't one of them. It would be lying for anyone to say that the title of Manhattan leader hadn't inflated his ego, and as a result he was blunt and brash. "So ya mind sharin'?" He figured it must have been something else, if Blake didn't want to say anithing about it. So, obviously, Jack pressed for answers.

"Lousy day then, eh, buddy?"
His brows went up and he shrugged "Me.. lousy day..'He shook his head. 'neva"he laughed, 'Well ... as extreme as lousy is... no I wouldnt call it lousy"He tilted his head his fingers stroking his chin a bit. "Hm..'He looked ot be in deep thought, his actions very stagey. Finally after a few moments he gave another shrug and smirked at him. "You know..'He said. 'I never realized how wonderful Manhatten really was...'He nodded. "No wonder you dont leave"he nudged him and winked. "eh eh.."
"Ya know, I'm a little more inna'rested in learnin' what happened to you than talkin' about m'self..."
He grunted. "You would be huh"he shook his head. 'Nothing really"he said, "I just had a full morning. You know, gotta keep myself entertained and everything. So... I decided to play around with the bulls, then afterwards the day was so warm a swim sounded good. Then I played fetch with the train yard dogs and "He nodded "and... i think.. now Im here"He shrugged again. "So.. I dont know what I going to do with the rest of my day..."he smirked.

"I never realized how wonderful Manhatten really was...No wonder you dont leave."
Jack gave him a hard look, but didn't act on it. It was just Blake being Blake, and if Jack hit him every time he said something like that, it would end up having no effect on his whatsoever. "Watch it..." he said, thinking it would suffice for now. He didn't much like using words unless he had to.
"So... I decided to play around with the bulls."
"Now don't even try ta tell me that ended well..." Jack interjected.
"Then afterwards the day was so warm a swim sounded good..."
"In your clothes, eh?"
"Then I played fetch with the train yard dogs..."
"Them mutts that'd bite your bum soon as look at ya? Fat chance. Listen, Blake, you tryin' to put one over on me? Cause I'm smarter'n that..." Jack was many things. Smart wasn't always one of them. But he could think, and he could see in Blake that everything he was saying was trash. He looked way too razzed for a guy who had enjoyed his day. "If ya don't wanna lemme know, fine. Just don't feed me a line."
"So.. I dont know what I going to do with the rest of my day..."
Jack grunted. "Good luck findin' somethin' around here ta do. Ain't nothin' to do here but walk around, eat cheap food and knock stuff over..." Jack had already done all three this afternoon, so his day was on its way to ending as well. "How's Harlem?" he asked randomly.

Blake shrugged. 'What..'He said innocently. "Im bein' serious" Blake still sounded like he was being sarcastic, but really he actually thought that. He had an odd likes. He didnt have the dreams that Jack had, no his dreams centered around what he was already doing. He didnt want to get anywhere, to him he would just end up like how his parents were and that was something he wasnt planning on ever doing.
Blake quirked his brows. "ey Jacky-boy'he said smacking him lightly, playfullying on the arm/shoulder with the back of his hand. "Don' take things so seriously. Im playing it up because if I tell it how it really is, then it'd be depressing. Honestly who wants to listen to something thats something that happenes every day to some people"He shrugged again. "Naw of course it want a magical experience, but hey, im still alive and Im thinking that if I stick right here, my night just might end with me still alive"He smirked.
Blake looked around, before looking back at him. 'I mean... do you really believe in bad luck?"he asked with another little smirk.
"ah"He said, "I dunno Jack"he said, 'I think if we got ourself some girls we might be able to enjoy ourselves'he wiggled his brows. "Know of where we can find some?"he asked. When Jack asked about harlem Blake waved his hand. "Dont ask me. I been elsewhere these past weeks, maybe month..'He stopped to think about it for a moment. "How long have I been back?" he wasnt actually asking Jack it was more of an out of the mind thought.
"Hm..>"He shook his head. "well anyway"he said. "Dont matter, I've just been doing my own thing, Id rather stay out of all of that stuff" he nodded, "whatever that stuff might be now adays"
