Jinks was sitting at a table in the Irving Hall she needed to think now that her brother new about Spot things will be going down hill. She didn't want to be in the middle like she was going to be, she knew Jack will be yelling at Spot.
She took another sip of her coke and put her head down on the table. She thought she heard someone sit next to her but she wasn't feeling like getting up to see.

Wow...Irving Hall was big. Dreamer had heard things about it from the other newsies and how much fun it was to go hang out backstage to watch this lady. She thought her name was Medda the Swedish Meadowlark, but then she thought it was another name, or something like that.
With arms folded across her chest, Dreamer looked around until she saw someone with their head down on a table. A girl with brown hair. At first, she thought of minding her own business, but she really didn't like leaving a person all alone, and seemed to be sad. She cautiously sat down by her, wondering what to say that wouldn't seem to stupid and make the unknown situation worse
"Hey," she said softly. "Are you okay?"

Jinks then heard a voice.
"Are you okay?"
"Depends what you mean by okay." said Jinks with her head on the table. "My brother and I had a fight. He's the biggest pain in the neck ever!" she said then looked up to see a girl. "Do ya have a older brother?" she asked the girl. She would feel bad if she did, older brothers stink.
Sure they help out a lot and her brother did teach her somethings. But he still doesn't have to but into her business. She hates brothers.

Dreamer sort of jumped when this girl looked up. She sounded a bit angry and ticked off. She bit her lip, not knowing what to say.
"Do ya have a older brother?"
Dreamer sadly shook her head.
"I wish I did," she replied softly. "I'm an only child,"

"I wish I did," "I'm an only child,"
"NO!" yelled Jinks "No ya don'." she told the girl. "If ya had a brother like mine ya wouldn' be left alone." she told her. "Ya wouldn' ever have a boyfriend because he would chase them all off." she said "I would give anythin ta be a only child." she said.
"He's off yellin at Spot right now I bet cha." she told her. "The name's Jinks Kelly." she said interducing herself to the stranger. "Leader of the great Staten Island Newsies and the youngest Leader in the history of newsies." she said proudly.
She was proud of that. People say it's weird but hey she was born this way, and she liked it and so did her newsies. They say it gives Staten Island what it was missing....what ever it was.

"NO!" yelled Jinks "No ya don'." she told the girl. "If ya had a brother like mine ya wouldn' be left alone."
Dreamer thought about what the girl said. In her point of view, this girl's brother seemed liked a nice guy if he wouldn't leave her alone. But that was Dreamer's point of view, being an only child.
"Ya wouldn' ever have a boyfriend because he would chase them all off."
Dreamer shrugged.
"Well," she said softly. "I guess I see your point,"
"I would give anythin ta be a only child."
"I would give anything to have a brother or a sister,"
"He's off yellin at Spot right now I bet cha."
"Who's Spot?"
"The name's Jinks Kelly. Leader of the great Staten Island Newsies and the youngest Leader in the history of newsies"
Dreamer furrowed her eyebrows a bit. Did she just say her last name was Kelly?...No, she couldn't be...Could she?
"My name's Dreamer," she said, introducing herself to Jinks Kelly. "...Jinks Kelly. You wouldn't happen to be related to Jack Kelly by any chance, would you?"

"Who's Spot?"
Jinks' eyes widened "Ya jokin right?" she asked "Spot Conlon, the fearless leader of Brooklyn. The King of Brooklyn." she said "Any of this ring a bell?" she asked how could no one hear of Spot? Of course if they where from a different state then yea but if you lived here a while then you should have been told about him from day one.
"...Jinks Kelly. You wouldn't happen to be related to Jack Kelly by any chance, would you?"
"Yup," sighed Jinks, "But I just have people call me Jinks and make them forget the Kelly part." she said "Let me guess, ya one of his newsies?" she asked looking at Dreamer with her hands on her glass.

Dreamer winced
"No," she shook her head. "Not really. I'm still kind of new around here,"
"Yup," sighed Jinks, "But I just have people call me Jinks and make them forget the Kelly part."
"I'll remember that next time,"
"Let me guess, ya one of his newsies?"
"Yeah," Dreamer nodded. "I didn't know he had a sister or anything,"

"Not really. I'm still kind of new around here,"
Jinks rolled her eyes. "I'll intraduce ya to him sometime. Just don' back talk to him or ya won't be on his goodside." she said "But if ya meet him with out me just remember this. Stay out of his way or ya will never be greated in Brooklyn again." she explained to Dreamer.
"I didn't know he had a sister or anything,"
"Really?" she asked surpized "I never thought I'd be that much of a secret." she said smiling a little. "Next time when ya see him ask him why he haven't told anyone about me." she said smiling. She's a secret to his newsies. That's something new. She might as well go into the Manhattan lodging house and yelling "I'M JINKS KELLY JACK KELLY'S SISTER" but she won't or will she?

Dreamer's eyes were in a surprised state, but she took Jinks advice. From what she heard about him, Spot Conlon seemed like a pretty tough newsie who didn't take any funny stuff from anybody. She silently gulped as if she were being told a ghost story that would haunt her for years
"Next time when ya see him ask him why he haven't told anyone about me."
"I really don't see him that much," Dreamer replied. "I stay out of his way sometimes since he's the leader, and I really don't know him that well to really start to talk to him,"

You should always get to know each and everyone of your newsies. And talk to them even when there isn't anything to talk about. She thought He must be laking leadership
"Well when ever ya do ask him." she said smiling at her. Acting as nice as she can, she didn't want to be in a bad mood infront of this girl. She seemed nice enough. "So how do you like Manhattan?" she asked
"The boys treating you alright?" she asked "If not I'll yell at 'em for it." she said, the old newsies knew her quite well unlike the new ones. So they know how she can get.

"Well when ever ya do ask him."
Dreamer nodded.
"I'll remember that next time when I see him," she said
"So how do you like Manhattan?"
Dreamer thought about it for a bit, and sighed, her arms resting on top of the table as she slouched forward in her seat.
"It's big," she commented with wonder. "And it certainly isn't like my old home back in Texas,"
"The boys treating you alright?" she asked "If not I'll yell at 'em for it."
Dreamer laughed a bit.
"You don't have to do that," she smiled kindly. "Well, Racetrack's all right. He kind of annoyed me at first. When I was starting out selling newspapers, I wasn't doing so well. Then he tried to help me out, and he was kind of mean, but then I kind of scolded him a bit, and...the whole selling newspapers thing with lying to the customers? It's really not my style,"
Dreamer was a very virtuous person, it seemed, which was a very strange and unique trait in a newsie. It hardly was nature to the world of selling newspapers

((If i'm wrong about Manhattan just tell me and I'll fix it))
"Yes Manhattan is one of the biggest terfs I think." she said "Ya lived in Texas?" she asked "What's it like? Is it like all the books say? Bout Cowboys and Cowgirls? An the wild horses?" she asked. She always wondered what it was like out of New York one day she will find out. Just not anytime soon.
Jinks laughed, "That's Racey," she said to her, "He does mean well but he has no people skills." she explained "I've been trying to teach him but it doesn't work. He has them around Blink, Mush, Jack, and all the other boys but not around other people." she said. "Lying is part of the job though. Or you won't sell any." she added.
"It's apart of our names. Newsie Lie an i and an e in both." she said with a smirk. She loves making that stuff up, well it is kinda true she thinks.

((You are right about Manhatten. I have the map right here from my trip. It is huge!...I stayed in my own turf, and it was so weird! I felt right at home. lol))
"Ya lived in Texas?" she asked "What's it like? Is it like all the books say? Bout Cowboys and Cowgirls? An the wild horses?"
Dreamer shrugged a bit.
"There were some Cowboys the cities," she mentioned. "I think I've only seen about one or two Cowgirls,"
Dreamer smiled to herself.
"I remember when I was still living there," she commmented. "I used to dream about being a Cowgirl when I grew up. And I dreamed a lot! But, one thing led to another, and I just ended up being what I already was: A dreamer,"
"I lived out on a ranch that used to take in wild horses though. I was in charge of taking care of them with my Pa, and helping them get back out into the wild again. I even rode some of them...That was a long time ago though,"
"Lying is part of the job though. Or you won't sell any."
Dreamer nodded.
"I know," she said. "It's just that I'm not very good at lying. Or running from someone that's chasing me, for that matter,"
"It's apart of our names. Newsie Lie an i and an e in both."
Dreamer giggled. She found Jinks to be a very clever girl. She liked talking with her. It was fun

"It's just that I'm not very good at lying. Or running from someone that's chasing me, for that matter,"
She started to think about who could help her new friend. She was already teaching some of her new newsies so she doesn't have time, not to menchin Spot and Jack. Spot he's one of the best liers ever. But he would never help her, "Jack could help ya with ya lyin skills. I would send ya ta Spot but that wouldn' be a good idea." she told her.
"So how is life treating ya?" she asked "Hopefully better than it's treating me." she added with a smile. But behind that smile, no one would never know, she's crying all the time. But she would never tell anyone that. She's a leader, she's a baby sister of the great strike leader. She couldn't ever show her true fellings on how she really feels.
