"Jack could help ya with ya lyin skills. I would send ya ta Spot but that wouldn' be a good idea."
From what she's heard so far about Spot, Dreamer would much rather prefer Jack teaching her some skills she could use. But she was curious as to why Spot wouldn't be a good idea.
"Why not Spot?" she asked with a wince
"So how is life treating ya?" she asked "Hopefully better than it's treating me."
"Life's treating me OK, so far. Nothing big has happened yet, but I think that's a good thing,"

"Why not Spot?"
"Well for one he's always in a bad attitude and two he's not really inta the whole girl newsies thin. Not yet anyways," she said she's been trying to get Spot use to the girl newsies so he wouldn't have to worry about all of them. It's been going well.
"Life's treating me OK, so far. Nothing big has happened yet, but I think that's a good thing,"
"Yea that's a very good thin. I love havin good days." she told Dreamer "It's not very often that I have them." she explained then looked at her drink. She wished it was a whiskey but Medda won' let anyone under age have anything good. Then she sighed and kept looking at the glass.

"...Why is he always in such a bad mood?" Dreamer wondered.
"Yea that's a very good thin. I love havin good days." she told Dreamer "It's not very often that I have them."
Dreamer looked sympatheticaly at Jinks. She looked so sad all of a sudden as she looked down at her drink. She put a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry," she said softly. "If you're not having a good day? Is there anything I can do?"

"I don't really know why." she told her looking down. She wished she knew so she could make him happy. "It's most likely because he's a young leader like I am and he want to prove that he's not a little kid and it's the only way her can." she said that's what her brother told her once.
"No not really no one can really cheer me up." she told her. "It's like a curse." she explained "I'm always sapouse to be like this." she said

"Ah," Dreamer said, nodding her head in understanding
"No not really no one can really cheer me up." she told her. "It's like a curse." she explained "I'm always sapouse to be like this."
Dreamer looked at Jinks with a sympathetic expression, and put a hand on her shoulder.
"I don't think you're supposed to feel like that all the time," she said softly

"Awe well who knows it's like the big guy upstairs don' like me or somethin." she shrugged. "I still say it's a curse," she mutered with a smirk. She loved being difficult.
"God I wish that Medda would just give us whiskey." said Jinks glaring at her glass hopping it would end up as her favorite drink.

"Awe well who knows it's like the big guy upstairs don' like me or somethin."
"My ma used to say that God gives us trials because He loves us," Dreamer replied. "It makes us stronger...My ma was religious, but not too religious, if you know what I mean,"
"God I wish that Medda would just give us whiskey."
Dreamer quirked an eyebrow.
"Why wouldn't she give you any whiskey?" she asked. "I've seen a couple of newsies drink some before...I've never had any before,"

"Why wouldn't she give you any whiskey?"
"We too young." said Jinks "The older kids get ta drink it because they're old enough unlike me." she said and glared at the older newsies around them. She hated older kids sometimes. They gave her such a head ach.
"So how old are ya?" she asked hoping she was about 17 years old. Then she can get a whiskey for Jinks.

"So how old are ya?"
"I'm 17," Dreamer replied. "I'll be turning 18 in July,"
Wow, 18. Had Dreamer grown up that fast? Man how time flies. It seemed just like yesterday she was riding her first wild pony with her father, and running around the bluebonnet filled plains with the school-girls during recess.
Everything seemed so simple to her when she was younger

"17 really," said Jinks and smirked "Go get me a whiskey would you?" she asked as she pushed Dreamer to the bar. "I need some whiskey, or a martini." she added "Or anything else with Alcohol." she said again.
She really needed some alcohol she can't stand not having it. She hates Medda for not letting the younger kids have anything good she needs some NOW.

"17 really,"
"Mmm-hmm," Dreamer nodded.
"Go get me a whiskey would you?"
"Uh..." Dreamer thought out loud.
Suddenly, Jinks had started pushing her to the bar. She was a bit shocked, but she let her push her toward there anyway.
"I need some whiskey, or a martini." she added "Or anything else with Alcohol.
Dreamer just stood there for a split second, dumbfounded, until she decided to go get some whiskey for Jinks. She figured as long as she was buying it, that it would be all right for a minor to drink.
Dreamer decided to get two shot glasses so that Jinks wouldn't appear as if she had bought the alcohol for herself. After paying for the bottle of whiskey and was given glasses to hold their drinks in, Dreamer made her way back to the table. After pouring Jinks' glass, she poured hers.
Hesitating a bit, Dreamer looked at the whiskey shot glass in her hand, shut her eyes tightly, and drank it down as fast as she could. As soon as she swallowed it, she coughed out loud, the burning in her throat giving her an uncomfortable feel

Jinks smiled as she saw Dreamer come back from the bar. She was finally going to get her whisky. Dreamer set down the bottle and glasses and pored them. Then she gave one to Jinks.
Jinks took her drink and drank it in one shot. She saw Dreamer coughing. Jinks laughed a little. "Ya know ya don' have ta drink it." she said.
"Oh by the way don' tell my brother about this got me?" she said poring her self another drink.

"Oh by the way don' tell my brother about this got me?"
Dreamer looked confused a bit.
"Why not?" she asked. "I mean, Jack's your older brother right? He's obviously going to be concerned about you, right?"

"I mean, Jack's your older brother right? He's obviously going to be concerned about you, right?"
"That's my point, he's my older brother." said Jinks taking anther shot. "He doesn' like me doin this stuff. I'm a little goil, I can' do anythin fun. Just go an play with my doll." she said resting her head on her hand.
"Oh an I don' have dolls I burned them when I was younger." she added "I don' want people thinkin that I have dolls layin around my lodging house." she added pouring another shot and drinking it.

"He doesn' like me doin this stuff. I'm a little goil, I can' do anythin fun. Just go an play with my doll."
Dreamer furrowed her eyebrows a bit, confused.
"You don't look like a little girl to me," she commented. "How old are you?"
"And of course you can have fun. You can do anything you want. It's really your choice. Not Jack's,"
Dreamer made a mental note to herself to talk to Jack about this...if she ever got the nerve, of course. After all, Jack was the leader of the borough she belonged to. She didn't want to get him mad at her for prying into business that wasn't hers.
"Oh an I don' have dolls I burned them when I was younger." she added "I don' want people thinkin that I have dolls layin around my lodging house."
Dreamer had to laugh. She knew a couple of people back in Texas who were like that. As they grew older, she and her friends had grown out of playing with dolls, and did things to them. Dreamer put her dolls in a special chest in her old attic so that her little girl could play with them someday when she got married to a nice ma and had children.
Now she didn't have them anymore, thanks to the fire that took them, as well as the whole house and her parents.
As she watched the young girl drink her whiskey, and pour herself another shot glass full of it, she grew concerned. Why did she seem upset when she first came in here? And there seemed to be something going on between her and Jack. What happened?
"What happened with you and Jack that got you so upset?" she asked. "I mean, I know it's none of my business, but I'm just curious. You don't have to tell me or anything, but I was just wondering, that's all,"
