Milly was down at the market place looking around for good and things. She needed supplies for her store. Recently her soups had gotten awfully bland due to lack of vegetables.
She looked over the cart of vegetables and picked up a couple of carrots, and potatoes. She sighed there were just no good vegetables anymore. She needed some good sweet corn! but that was rather hard to find cheap. She continued on down the line of carts to see if she could find some better things, or fresher, or cheaper, or something.

Frankie didnt have to go to work for another hour or two, so hed decided to go for a walk, clear his mind and stretch his legs. Hed been working a lot lately and even the hard work wasnt exhausting enough to give him a good nights sleep.
Frankie rarely slept, when he did his nights were invaded by dreams of his sister and he cared not to see that. He was up usually an hour or two after he slept and had a cup of coffee in his hands seconds later. It wasnt healthy, but no adays what was healthy.
The market place in manhatten was busy this day and it didnt help when a couple of kids went running past. He barely had time to get out of the way, but he did have time to see them practically plow into someone else, knocking her things to the ground. they didnt even stop, they probably hadnt noticed.
He took the few steps to get to her. "are you alright miss?"he asked as he bent to pick her things up before they were stepped on by other people.

Milly groaned irritated. She loved children she really did, so she understood why they were in such a hurry, but just the same it was slightly annoying.
"Oh, I'm okay, they just barely hurt me, but I'm afraid they might have done a number on my basket," she said. She picked up the basket and found it was alright. "Nope, it's okay, so we're okay.
"Thank you very much for your help," she added. "If you could just... put those in here," she said opening the large basket so that Frankie could put the vegetables into the basket.

Frankie smiled. "Well Im glad you're not injured"He said, "and Im glad your basket is fine"he stood up the items all collected.
He placed them into her basket. 'There you go"He said, "I think I got everything... though If I didnt, I wouldnt suggest using whats lefton the ground. They are more than likely stepped on"he said with another friendly smile, his green eyes equally friendly.
"Im Frankie"he said holding his hand out to her. It wasnt his real name, but it was the name hed been going by for quite some years. Scott had disappeared shortly after hed left his house, the night everything happened. Ever since then hed been frankie and it seemed to stick, even now that he was 24 and no longer living on the streets or in lodging houses.

She giggled a little, finding his statement very true, and humorous at the same time. "Well it is very nice to meet you Frankie!" she said. She took his hand and shook it gently.
"You are a very charming man I must say. My name is Milly," she said with a sparkling smile. "Well... say I don't suppose I could ask of you a slightly small but rather large favor could I hun?" she asked. She hoped he didn't take that personally... she called everyone hun. "Do you think you could walk with me? I'm trying to find some good ingredients for soup, and I think that if I got this basket knocked out of my hands again I'll just get rather furious with whom ever does it," she smiled sweetly. "I know it's a rather personal request but... well pretty please?" she asked hopefully.

He smiled. "its nice to meet you to..."He said and let his gaze fall to the ground with a sheepish like smile. "Mm.."he shook his head. "I dont think I am much of that miss"he said. "just helpful is all"He looked back up at her. 'But I thank you for saying so"
He raised his brows at her question and then when she elaborated, he gave a low chuckle. 'Not at all, I wouldnt mind in the least. I really dont have anything to do for a few hours"He said, "so... Im all yours"He said not meaning it in any flirty way at all.
Not that he wouldnt flirt with her, frankie just wasnt the type of guy that flirted with girls. Though he did like being helpful and if she needed some help then he wouldnt mind helping at all.
"Besides, we did just introduce ourselves and think of how it might be wasted if we didnt see each other again. This way it wouldnt be completely a lack of name usage if we continued to talk"he shrugged, "I could carry that for you"he offered motioning for the basket. he actually had felt like an idiot with the name comment.

She giggled at the comments with the names. "I couldn't say. I've met several people who've told me their names and I've never seen them again. But I have gotten some wonderful names out of it," she said nodding. "But that happens when people come right off the boat and into your lap."
"Well... if you're offering I would love to give my arm a break for a while," she said. "Thank you. I'll take it back, so you don't haul it around the whole time though," she said nodding.
"You ever been to Long Island? I own a restaurant there," she said with a gentle smile. "It's there that I'm looking for ingredients for the soup," she said with a gentle smile. "What would you like in your soup?" she asked as she looked around the carts. "I'm looking for ingredients," she explained.

He grinned.. 'yes I suppose so.."He said as she allowed him to have her basket. "Its okay.. .I dont mind at all.."He told her as he followed her, stopping when she stopped.
"Long island..."He said. "yes, ive been there, what restaraunt do you work at?"he asked with curiosity.
When she asked him about ingrediants he laughed lightly. 'Um... I dont... really have a preference. ... C arrots?"he asked..."Potatoes... mm.."He shrugged. 'What um... what do you usually put in soup.?"

"Well, it depends on the soup I suppose," she said with a soft smile. "Tomatoes sometimes. Celery," as she named off the vegetables she picked them off of a cart, "carrots and potatoes of course. Onions sometimes," she added onions to her basket. "Corn, beans, peas..." but she was at a loss for corn, there wasn't any, so that was missing from her basket, but pea pods and strings of beans were added. She paid the man and sighed. "I do wish I could find corn!"
"I work at Jenny's by the way. My grandmother started it, my mother took over, then me! Cute little place, Jenny's."

"ah..>"He said smiling as he listened to her say ingrediants and put them in the cart. When she said she wished she had some corn he frowned then looked back at her. "What of... another market place'He suggested> 'We could... look around in the other buroughs'He suggested.
When she told him where she worked he nodded, he hadnt been there before but he would make sure he did now. 'Jennys?'he said, "ill keep that in mind'he said, "So.. you do the cooking?"he asked, "how many people do you have helping you there if any?"he asked wiht curiosity.

"I dunno if they have it anywhere. It's so hard to find good sweet corn. It's just a touch early in the season. In about a week the carts will be full and they won't know what to do with it all. But we don't have it here yet..." she sighed. "It's no bother, I'm sure I can find some a week from now without too much trouble, thank you though," she said giving him an encouraging smile.
"Oh, I have lots of help there! I usually come and cook a lot of the soup in the morning, or after the customers have left at night. Then I have a couple of people who come and cook for me in the afternoon, and some extras who come in in the evening for the dinner rush," she explained. "I'm the day waitress, and then I have another young girl who comes in the evening to help me with dinner... again," she said giggling a little. "But I'm there almost all the time. I love the place really. It's practically home," she said with a sweet smile.
