"Uh, I really don't remember where I was headed to be quite honest, I guess I'm just roamin' around too..."
Ian smirked, "Well then, we'll roam around together." He was grateful for the company since that was something rare to him. He normally had to be by himself most of the time, and that wasn't fun at all.
"Sounds like fun, bet ya get around alot, I wouldn't know all that much, I'm lucky ta have a place ta stay, I don't have family anymore really....."
He looked over at her, thinking before he spoke for once. "It seems like most of the newsies don't have a family," He paused, trying to choose his words wisely. "You can tell me about it if you want." He said.

She sighed,"uh should we walk or are we just gonna stand here all day..."she said abit playfully, and slightly out of the reasoning that she had to be doing something, she couldn't stand or sit still for too long. She took a step forward in an attempt to start walking but she didn't want to start walking without him. She looked up at him her eyes slightly in a puppy doggish way as she waited.
"We can go somewhere if ya want, i know my way around hereh, since I live in the lodging house here, or if you want we can head over to the Bronx, I really don't care, anything is fine with me..."she said, she just didn't want to stay in this spot to talk, and it looked like rain would be rolling in soon.

"uh should we walk or are we just gonna stand here all day..."
Ian smirked and glanced down at her, "Okay, let's walk." He put his hands into his pockets and continued to smirk. He glanced back at her, waiting for her to follow him.
"We can go somewhere if ya want, i know my way around hereh, since I live in the lodging house here, or if you want we can head over to the Bronx, I really don't care, anything is fine with me..."
He looked up towards the sky, thunder rumbled slightly. He knew they wouldn't be able to get back to the Bronx without it raining on them. He ran his fingers through his short hair, but he didn't want to go to the Lodging House. He didn't want to get his nice clothes wet either, "How about we go to the Lodging House?" He suggested. Rain was coming soon, and he preferred to stay dry.

She shuddered slightly at the thought of walking into the lodging house with him, but then again most of the newsies were probably out selling or at the tracks so it wouldn't be very crowded.
"Uh I guess that's fine, let's go then..."she said as she caught up to him and fell in step at his side. She shivered slightly as the wind picked up and she wrapped her arms around herself over her chest to try to keep warm, she never planned for the weather, but rain normally didn't bother her, it was the wind and the cold that bothered her. She watched her feet as they walked heading toward the exit of the park, she didn't know what to say.

"Uh I guess that's fine, let's go then..."
Ian nodded, as he put his hands into his pockets. "Okay, let's go." He glanced over at her, taking in how pretty she was for the first time. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, and a very pretty smile, if only she smiled more often..
He shook his head out of his thoughts, trying to make a conversation. "So uh, how did you get the nickname Cowgirl?" He asked, not really knowing what else to say. Some of the newsies had very strange nicknames, and some others had common nicknames that he has heard before.

When he questioned her nickname it was no surprise, everyone questioned it, but it was nice to hear the question without the fact of whether she and Cowboy Jack Kelly were smittin. She looked at him snapping out of her thought, wishing she had something warm to wear, she looked into his stunning blue eyes and wondered how they could possibly be so mesmorizing. She thought over the nickname explainatio before opening her mouth to speak.
"Well, I really dunno, it jus stuck I guess, I do know how ta ride horses, but part of it might a been cause Jack Kelly and I were so close when we were younga..."she said wishing things could go back to how they used to be.
She wondered what Ian was thinking as he looked her over and his eyes never seemed to leave her, she wondered if he thought she was mediocre, or something.... She shivered again without knowing it and rain finally began leaking from the grey sky above.

"Well, I really dunno, it jus stuck I guess, I do know how ta ride horses, but part of it might a been cause Jack Kelly and I were so close when we were younga..."
Ian furrowed his brow. "Who's Jack Kelly?" He asked, it probably was a dumb question, but he was curious. He pushed his hands deeper into his pockets, as he looked back up towards the sky, it was now sprinkling.
He glanced around the park, it was almost vacant. Not like he could blame them, who wanted to be outside in the rain? For as long as he could remember, he hated being in the rain. He liked the rain itself, he just hated being in it. He didn't like to get his clothes wet.

Cowgirl looked over at him as she smiled slightly, it was rare to find someone around any part of New York who didn't know who Jack was, it was kind of nice for a change. She kept her eyes on him as she spoke,"He's the Manhattan leader of the newsies, also known as Cowboy, I always get asked if I'm smittin' with him but it ain't true...."she muttered partly in disappointment but not much.
She averted her gaze as they approached the pathway out of central park and then she looked back at him,"so....what will become of us do you think?"she asked,"Friends? jusdt acquaintances....?"she muttered, in her head she considered more if they got to know each other well and came to like each other, but one could only tell so much at first meeting.

"He's the Manhattan leader of the newsies, also known as Cowboy, I always get asked if I'm smittin' with him but it ain't true...."
"Oh." Ian said flatly, why was it almost every person he ran into was a newsie? He just shrugged it off, running her words through his head again. She seemed almost disappointed when she said she wasn't 'smitten' with this 'Cowboy' or Jack Kelly as he was also called. He licked his lips and said, "You seemed almost sad when you said you weren't smitten with him, are you?" He didn't want to prod, but he was just curious.
"so....what will become of us do you think? Friends? jusdt acquaintances....?"
Ian almost gulped, normally he was the one making the first move and all but now the tables were turned. He didn't know what to say to her, would they become friends? Maybe more? Would they just stay acquaintances? He couldn't tell, he just met her. "Well, I honestly don't know." He said, truthfully. "Maybe we will become friends, I don't think anybody knows at the first meeting."

She smiled slightly at his questioning of her sadness when she had said the comment about Jack. "Well I am disappointed in a way, but I can't exactly expect him to fall for me jus' cause we've been friends since god knows when, life happens, things change, I used to think it was possible, me and him, but now that we're older, it doesn't seem that way any more,"she said, logic dripping from every word said. She looked at Ian and ran a hand through her now damp hair before replacing it across her chest where her arms were folded trying to keep warm.
"And as for not knowing cause we first met, that's true, you can never tell for real until time passes, but then again some people have a sense of knowing right away, and it's nice to check and see if you are one of those people, but now I know you are not,"she said a slight smirk playing on her lips, she didn't know whether she was confusing him or making sense, it made sense to her...

Ian just nodded in response, he didn't know anything about this 'Cowboy', and didn't know what else to say. He wasn't a relationship expert, he couldn't even keep the girls he was somewhat interested in. "I'm sorry about that," He said. "Life goes on, don't waste your life waiting for somebody you might not ever get." He shrugged.

Ian furrowed his brow, feeling very confused but trying not to let that show. "I guess I'm not.." He said, his playful smirk teasing his lips.

Cowgirl smiled,"aww I see I've confused you have I?"she asked noticing the furrow of his brow. She shrugged and laughed softly before looking down. "I just meant that some people can tell right away where the realationship will end up with someone,"she added. She looked up at the sky letting the raindrops cover her face before she looked back at him, and she smiled slightly. "I tend to be logical sometimes, some people don't get it, others do, some think I'm poetic in a sense, I believe I am,but only one calls me Poet and I haven't seen him in awhile....few days maybe weeks, nobody counts any more,"she said tilting her head.
She liked playing mind games with people, it was always unintentional though, unless it was with Jack or Race, with those two it was all intended out of fun and spite. She looked down again,"it's cold don't you agree?"she asked.

Ian's brow furrowed deeper, he wasn't following her where she was going with this. Call him slow, but he honestly didn't get what she was trying to say. Trying to hide his confusion, he let his face relax. "Oh, well that makes sense." Even though he didn't understand at all. "Are you one of those people who can tell right away?" He asked for the sake of conversation.
He ran his fingers through his now wet hair, making it messier than it already was. He wasn't one for liking his hair to be kept neat and in order, even when he was younger he hated it when his mother would comb his hair to the side, making the tangled mess neat. Now that he lived on his own, there was no mother there to comb his hair to the side. He didn't even comb his hair out, just left it tangled and messy. Just how he liked it.
"it's cold don't you agree?"
Cowgirl's voice pulled him back down to the ground. He glanced over and her and gave a slight smile, "Yeah, it is. How much farther?" He asked.
