Jinks was in Central Park just sitting around doing mostly nothing. She was going to see Jack but he was still selling and told her to go somewhere and they'll meet later. She didn't feel like going back to Staten Island just yet so she sat in Central Park just watching the people go by.
"It's a nice day out," said a lady walking by. "Yea nice day to ruin," she muttered not looking at the person. She had her arms crossed and head back looking at the sky.

Finally! Air. Beautiful, beautiful air. Sarah almost ran out of her house. She wanted so badly to dance or sing or something. Anything. Something about being couped up in that house all day, everyday did that to her. She didn't know exactly what it was, but she had a pretty good idea.
Mrs. Jacobs had given Sarah the day off, after much discussion. It wasn't that her mother was a prude or anything, just very protective of her only daughter. Sarah understood, of course, but sometimes felt a little suffocated. A little only began to describe it.
Sighing, out of content, Sarah made her way toward Central park. It was a lovely day and she felt like she needed to express these feelings. "It's a nice day out," she exclaimed, to no one in particular.
The response was definitely not what she was expecting, if she was even expecting one at all. She turned to look at the person who so rudely replied back to her. Surprisingly, she saw a young lady. Sarah had been raised to respect your elders and have manners, especially in a young lady such as the one standing before her. But for some reason this girl seemed to defy these standards. Sarah was some what jealous.
"Any reason you feel that way?" Sarah was curious now. This girl was her own person. Someone free. Sarah wanted to be free.

"Any reason you feel that way?"
"Na," she said to the lady. "Plus why should I tell ya?" she asked the girl "I don' even know anythin about you. For all I know ya could be a man dressed as a woman." she said with a smirk. She loved how she can just make up stuff like that, it was just fun.
"The names Jinks," she told the girl. "Jinks Kelly," she added spiting in her hand and held it out so they could shake. "What bout you?" she asked waiting for the girl to respond.

Na," she said to the lady. "Plus why should I tell ya?" she asked the girl "I don' even know anythin about you. For all I know ya could be a man dressed as a woman."
Sarah raised her eyebrows in amusement. She tried to fight off the grin that was threatening to come out. It came anyway. The grin was wide and it came with a slight chuckle. This wasn't ladylike, of course, but Sarah really didn't care. She felt like laughing out loud, but figured the girl standing next to her would fine that strange...
"Well," she started. "I can assure you I am not a man. I have a boyfriend." Sarah said, with a nod and a smirk.
"The names Jinks," she told the girl. "Jinks Kelly," she added spiting in her hand and held it out so they could shake. "What bout you?"
Sarah's breath caught in her throat and she looked at the girl hard. "Do you know a Jack Kelly?" Her curiosity was killing her. Jack had never mentioned having a relative. This girl couldn't be anything. She must just have the same last name...

"Do you know a Jack Kelly?"
"Ah the name that I have ta live up ta." she said taking her hand away. "Yea he's my brother," she said lifting up her legs to the bench. "Why? What did he do this time?" she asked looking at the girl who didn't say her name yet.
"An ya didn' tell me ya name yet." she told her. She hated when she told people her name and she told them her name, full name, and they go on about her brother. Sometime it's tuff to be his sister but she loves him anyways.

"Ah the name that I have ta live up ta. Yea he's my brother. Why? What did he do this time? An ya didn' tell me ya name yet."
Sarah turned away from the girl and swallowed hard. No matter how many times she swallowed, though, the lump would not go away. Jack had lied to her, or just not told the whole truth. He had lied to her about his name, but she understood that and let it go. But this... this was too much.
She shook her head and cleared her throat. "My names Sarah. Sarah Jacobs.." She was surprised to find that her voice came out in some what of a whisper. Something about this whole situation scared her. If Jack couldn't even tell her the truth about a family member, what else was he lying about?
Sarah glanced at the girl to see if her name caught any recognition.

Jacobs thought Jinks where have I heard that name befor? she thought to herself. "Nice ta meet ya." said Jinks not thinking anything of the name anymore. If she heard it then it would come to her.
"So what did my brother do ta ya that ya look so upset?" asked Jinks as she moved her feet and patted on the bench for her to sit down. She usally don't like girls that arn't newsies but she'll be nice....for now.

"Nice ta meet ya."
Somethine like recognition crossed Jink's face. It was gone as soon as it arrived. Maybe it wasn't there at all. Maybe Sarah was just being hopeful. She wanted to believe that Jack had at least told his sister about his girlfriend. She wanted to.
"So what did my brother do ta ya that ya look so upset?"
Sarah shook her head and cleared her mind of all thoughts. She didn't want Jinks running to Jack and telling him about this conversation. Hopefully Jinks would forget about it. Sarah smiled at the girl and sat down.
"Nothing. I just, well, yeah." Sarah really didn't know how to cover up her emotions. She had seen some of the boys do it, they were like rocks. But she was different. Jack had always said that she was easy to read. And Racetrack confirmed that everytime they played poker. She tried with all her might to hide the fact that deep inside her, her heart was thumping a million miles a minute.

Jinks looked at the Sarah girl. "No really, what did he do ta ya?" she asked smirking. "If he did somethin really bad ya can tell me we ain't alike at all." she added Jacobs the name came to her mind again. David Jacobs she thought, she heard of the David Jacobs that helped with the strike but never meet him.
"Wait are ya related ta David Jacobs?" she asked keeping her eyes on her. Race told her never take your eyes off of someone that 's lying. So she was listening to him.

Sarah ignored the first comment. She wasn't really ignoring, just pushing aside. She didn't want to tell this girl what was going on. She would talk to Jack later. She just simply shrugged and turned away. The girls hard stare unnerved Sarah.
"Wait are ya related ta David Jacobs?"
Sarah's gaze wondered back to Jinks, hard stare and all. She nodded and replied, "Yes, he is my brother." She raised her eyebrows and smirked lightly. She was so proud of Les and David. Not only because of what they had done, but how they had done it. They were free. Their parents hardly worried about Les and never worried about Davied. Freedom.

"Yes, he is my brother."
"That's nice," said Jinks rolling her eyes at the girl. She eyed the girl and she found out just by her name that she had a family. Jinks hates people with families. She never tries to get along with them.
"So..." she said not really knowing what to say. "Do ya hang out wit Jack?" she asked trying to come up with a conversation.
((I didn't know where to go after the first paragraph so I just thought of something sry it's bad))

"So..." she said not really knowing what to say. "Do ya hang out wit Jack?"
Sarah's mind was on something else. She didn't even hear Jinks first remark, and really didn't care. She wasn't going to let Jack and his blunder mess her day up. She decided to forget it and enjoy the rest of her day.
"Yeah, you could say that..." Sarah said with a laugh.

Jinks glared at her. "What cha laughin at ya old lady?" she asked and stood up. She wasn't about to let this girl go home without a black eye. Her hand was in a fist already.
She really hated this girl.

"What cha laughin at ya old lady?"
Sarah stood up as well, but in a less threatning matter. She put her hands up on defense and took a step back. "I didn't mean anything by it..." Sarah couldn't fight to save her life. Jack had tried to teach her, but she still was very bad at it.
"Honestly." Sarah didn't know why Jinks was so upset. She hadn't said anything to offend her, had she?

"I didn't mean anything by it..."
Jinks rolled her eyes at Sarah, she had somthing to hide and Jinks was going to figure it out. "So what's ya secret?" she asked glaring her down. She took her glare from Spot himself but it wasn't as good she's still working on it.
"I know ya hidin somethin so why don' ya just tell me?" asked Jinks crossing her arms over her chest.
