GD had woken up late. ...great. She had had a terrible morning on top of that. No food before selling, and she had run all the way to distribution. The bad news was that she had forgotten socks, so her brown boots were rubbing her ankles, and making her ankles blister something awful.
She'd run though the mud after getting her papers splattering her skirts and even her legs. She'd dropped about 10 papers from distribution to here, and she had just found a headline.
It turned out GD was having a hard time getting to the point this morning. Even her headlines were out of whack, and they were usually fairly decent. "Two... Elephants... come to zoo?" Some improvement that was. The headline read that one elephant had recently been brought to the zoo.
GD sighed and sat down on the curb, stained skirts and all. She opened up a paper and was deeply engaged as she searched for something that she could find that would be worth the penny she sold the paper for.

GD shrugged. "I dunno," she said with a slight shrug. "Ain't much worth workin' with, let alone much to work with period." She sighed a little. "Been quite the mornin' so far really," she said with quite a bit of honesty in her words.
She scanned the back page, and then added it to the pile of the paper she'd dissected while headline hunting. She picked up yet another section and returned to her search. "How's ya mornin' gone?" she asked as she flipped the paper over and looked at the bottom half.

"Ah, so it was good as usual then," she said chuckling. "I noticed that we all weren't in the mood to get up today... sorry about that," she said. She tucked one of her long messy curls behind her ear and sighed. "With the way papes have been sellin' recently they ain't much motivation ta get outta bed," she explained.
"Headlines used to be a lot better, but there isn't much that..." she stopped short when she found a headline about a flu virus that was sending several people to the hospital. "Hello there..." she said as she turned the paper so she could read the story a little. "I think I may have found something that's at least worth talking about," she said with a smile.

"Poker party huh?" she asked. She thought about it and took her eyes from the paper and stared off down the street instead. "It's a thought," she said nodding. "It would give the newsies a chance ta get together, and discuss things. Who knows, if ya invite different people... maybe they could speak their part about who they side with, Cole and Note," she said.
She then came back to reality and found the article again. "Here," she said pointing it out to Starsage. "Not to shabby eh?"

"I think I may do just that. Oh, hey, I got a deck of cards to contribute to the cause, if the poker idea takes off," she volunteered. "I'd be happy ta lend 'em to you," she added with a bright smile.
She thought for just a moment. How to make this headline work to her advantage? Well... she already looked like a tired, dirty, ragamuffin of an orphan, that was a good start! And for a headline? "Influenza sweeping city. Hospitals full! What to do if you're hit! HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS DISEASE COVERS NEW YORK READ ALL ABOUT IT!" And with those few words GD was thrusting papers into the air and calling detail after detail. Customers began to take interest, and line up to read her news.

GD smiled over her shoulder and waved to the departing leader before she threw another paper into the air and continued with her headline. It was selling rather well really! She was impressed. Apparently the general population is interested in some news too! Apparently the whole world really wanted something interesting to happen. (Okay. If anyone else wants to rp with GD feel free to post now!)
