It was another night. Another day went by of really bad selling newspapers...which was all right for Dreamer.
After managing to sell her last newspaper, Dreamer had quickly rushed back to the Manhatten Lodging House, climbed up to the roof like she did every night for the past couple of weeks, and unrolled her blanket and pillow she kept hidden behind the wall.
When nightfall came, Dreamer hadn't gotten to sleep. She was just sitting against the wall, blanket around her shoulders, looking up at the sky, thinking about what she should do to make herself useful.
She sighed...There didn't seem to be that many options with what's been going on with her.
((All I got. Sorry))

"Where in wide streets of York was Dreamer?," Kid Blink wondered as he made his way up to the bunk room. Having walked in only moments ago, he had intended to find Dreamer to make sure that she was alright. Since she came to the lodging house, Blink had taking a brotherly liking to Dreamer. He had never had any sisters (his friends, Race, Mush, Chance, were as good as brothers to him), and Dreamer didn't appear to be that close to anyone in the lodging house aside from Jinks.
He reached the landing, and, hearing noise, poked his head into the boys' bunk room, but was met with questioning glances of some of the youngest newsies who had already dragged themselves to their bunks. One of the young newsies he recognized as Spitz, a boy about the same age as Les, Davey's brother. "Hey Spitz, have you seen Dreamer?" he asked.
Spitz was an eager little fellow. Currently, he was laying on his bunk, doodling on an extra newspaper. Blink grinned as he realized how sleepy Spitz was--his head kept jerking as he fought to stay awake, determined to finish whatever little drawing he was working on.
"Spitz!," Blink raised his voice to get his attention. "Huh?" Spitz said drowsily, turning from his doodle to peer at Blink wearily. "Dreamer. Do you know where she is?," Blink repeated. "Dreamer?," Spitz repeated slowly, "Uhhh, mhm," he nodded his head slowly in confirmation. "She ran up the stairs headin' fer the roof or somthin'....," he slurred. "Thanks Spitz." Blink nodded at him and walked out of the bunk room. "It ain't nothin' Blink!" he heard Spitz call sleepily after him. "Go t'sleep Spitz b'fore you fall outta bed and hurt ya'self!" Blink yelled in response, already halfway up the stairs to the roof of the lodging house.
Blink paused when he reached the top of the steps and rested his hand on the door knob. The door was already open and he could see the dark night through the crack. He was not sure where Dreamer was, and he did not want to startle her if she was indeed on the roof and nearby so he pushed the door open cautiously. "Hey Dreamer... you up here?" he called out.

"Hey Dreamer... you up here?"
Dreamer jumped a little bit at the sudden call for her name. She recognized who it was. Kid Blink.
Shoot! How did he know she was up here? Usually, no one even bothered to know where she...wait a minute.
"Spitz," Dreamer groaned softly.
Spitz would tell ANYONE about ANYTHING!
But she couldn't just say nothing when Blink was calling her. Kid Blink was like an older brother to her, but ever since what happened that night with Mike D. Greaser...
She kind of figured that he, along with the other Manhatten newsies, would be mad at her. The last thing she wanted to do in this world was disappoint Blink. She loved him enough to not do that.
Pulling the blanket around her shoulders in a small act of security, not to mention it was kind of getting cold that autumn night, Dreamer forced herself to speak up.
"Y-Yeah," she answered Blink, leaning forward so that he could see her. "I'm up here Blink,"

Blink pushed the door open a bit wider and walked out onto the roof. It was a cool, fall night and there was a light breeze around Manhattan, evident in the line of laundry -- shirts, pants, dresses-- swaying on the fire escape outside of a flat a little ways down the street. Blink shivered slightly as he began to feel the slight chill through his thin, orange cotton shirt.
"Y-Yeah, I'm up here Blink"
Blink looked around, searching for Dreamer's slight frame, and spotted her wrapped tightly in her thin blanket. Blink frowned, "Aw hey Dreams. Why're you'se up here?" he asked, ambling over to her and sitting down next to her.

"Aw hey Dreams. Why're you'se up here?"
Giving a small smile and half a shrug, Dreamer was a bit quiet in response as Kid Blink came and sat down next to her against the wall. The closeness between them felt warm and appealing to Dreamer since so many of her restless nights on the roof had been cold.
She thought about how to answer his question without him worrying about her so much. It was hard enough for Dreamer to lie as it was, but to lie to Kid Blink...that was just downright a ticket straight down to hell.
I've been in hell before, she thought to herself. It couldn't be worse.
So Dreamer attempted to lie.
"Nothing," she put on an uneasy smile. "Just enjoying the cool night breeze,"
Suddenly, a sudden chill of the wind made Dreamer shudder enough to be surprised from it. She groaned mentally in her head. God doesn't want me to ever lie, huh? she thought to herself again.
