Roger winced as Mimi told Mike their names. Somethig about this guy made Roger uneasy. He couldn't be trusted. Something was bad about him. And now, great, the bad guy knows their names. Roger kept his eyes trailed on the new guy. Mike. What a gross name. Roger felt a twinge of jealousy as Mimi shook hands with him. She actually wanted to touch that guy?
Roger said nothing as the two of them conversed. He refused to even acknowledge the guy standing next to him. He kept his jawline set and his glare on the guy standing beside him. This was the first time Roger ever felt really protective of Mimi. One move and the guy was going down.
((Short sorry...))

Mike had to hide a confident smirk as Mimi told them their names. He would have found out one way or the other, but her telling him just made him feel more powerful. Mimi began to fiddle with her chain, and Mike could tell he was making her nervous.
Roger. Mike switched his gaze to Roger and offered a friendly smile and nod. Even if he did try to shake hands with him, Mike figured Roger wouldn't. Roger already disliked Mike. Probably jealous. Or protective of his girlfriend. How cute... Mike had to force himself not to gag in front of them.
"Are you a newsie?"
Switching his gaze back to Mimi, Mike smiled and nodded. "I am, or at least I was..." he trailed off. He wanted to see how much they knew about him. If they knew enough, Mike would refrain from playing the sympathy card. But if they didn't know anything, he would manipulate them into thinking that the newsies were mean and that they had kicked him out for no reason.

Mimi glanced over at Roger, feeling a little bit worried. Mike and Roger seemed to clash even though one word hasn't been uttered between them. She bit her lower lip, the tension was making her feel uncomfortable. She looked over at Mike, sure he didn't look like the friendliest guy, maybe he was nice.
Then again, most guys that looked shady were shady and they ended up killing people.
"I am, or at least I was..."
She smiled, "Oh really? What borough were you in when you were a newsie?" She honestly had no clue who this guy was, never heard of him and never seen him before. "I'm a Bronx newsie, and so is Roger." She said, poking Roger in the ribs. Maybe he could crack a smile.

Roger had enough. Mimi and Mike were getting way to friendly. By no means was Roger blaming Mimi, she was just being courteous. But Mike, Mike was crossing the line. He was getting a bit to chummy for Roger. Mimi was Roger's first girlfriend and he wasn't about to lose her to a low life creep like Mike. Before Mike could respond to Mimi's question, Roger said harshly, "Excuse us, but we have to go..." He grabbed Mimi's hand and pulled her along, not glancing back. He hoped Mimi would be understanding and just realize that he didn't feel right about this Mike character. ((Short, I know... but Roger is a pansy and can't reply to anything... ))

"Excuse us, but we have to go..."
Mike grinned at Mimi and opened his mouth to reply, but before he could, Roger interrupted him. Jealous, much? Mike thought as Roger made a lame excuse. Mike didn't even think he was being flirtatious. He wasn't, Roger was just a jealous boyfriend. Mike shrugged and didn't let it affect him. He was just so devilishly handsome that all guys were jealous of him.
"Alright, well maybe we can talk later..." As he said this, he purposely looked at Mimi. He wanted to talk to her, mostly about Starsage, but also about Bronx. She must be pretty good friends with the second in command; maybe that would help Mike.
{.....haha}
