Cowgirl walked in to Johnson's after a long day of selling, she scanned the room with her blue eyes before deciding on a window table. She sauntered over to the table an took a seat, she didn't bother in waving anyone over, she was patient enough to just sit and wait. She ran a hand through her blond waves of hair as she leaned back abit in her chair and averted her eyes out the window. She watched people pass by some hand in hand with others, some playing and laughing, she remembered happiness.
She fell into thought for the moment thinking, she wasn't sad currently, but she wasn't amazingly happy either. SHe shifted in her seat unaware of it as she lie her hands in her lap and folded them before crossing one leg over the other.

Roger glanced up as the annoying bell rang above the door. He smirked as he thought about the stupid bell. Him and Mimi had come up with that name. It was either the stupid bell, or annoying bell. He chuckled just thinking about it. His thoughts then shifted to Mimi and his smile widened. She was all he ever thought about anymore and it usally got him into trouble.
He heard a noise and snapped out of his daze. His vision cleared and he noticed hands infront of his face. They had been clapping. He whirled around to see his boss standing right there. "Go get that little girls order... NOW!" Roger jumped and dropped his notepad. He fumbled with it and muttered, "Yessir..."
He made his way to the young lady and put on a charming smile. "What can I getcha?"

She was knocked out of her trance that she barely even realized she was in and she looked over to see the waiter, he asked her something she knew what it was, but sh hadn't heard it. She replied anyway,"Uh water please for now....."she said hesitantly, sometimes it bothered people when all she asked for was water, but it was habit, there was possibility she might order something else later, but she maily only ever asked for water. She tilted her head slightly as she examined him momentarily, he seemed about her age, it wasn't suprising but not many people her age worked in places like this, they tended to be newsies.
She rested an elbow on the table and her had in the palm of her hand,"ya like it here?"she asked thinking outloud but questioning him all the same.

,"Uh water please for now....."
He nodded and noted her weird manner. Something was up with her and he would find it out. She seemed like a talker and he was sure by the end of the meal that she would confess her feelings. He turned to leave while writing on his notepad.
,"ya like it here?"
He smirked and nodded, yep he was right, she was a talker. He glanced over his shoulder and looked at her. "Yep, adn your water will be right out.." He winked at her. Now, he was not flirting, but was just being nice.

Cowgirl nodded as he winked and told her her water would be right out, she wondered what kind of perso he was, everyone seemed so different from each other. You could find similiar qualities in two people but something always defined them making them unique. She thought for awhile about what made this guy unique..... She looked down slightly and drew small circles on the table with her fingertip.
She wanted to talk, but didn't, she wanted to be happy, but couldn't, she wanted company, yet what was the point, everyone always leaves, so what is worth staying for?

He rbought her water out and made his way to her table. He placed it on the table and smiled. "Anything else?" His smile faltered as he noticed the look on her face. He glanced around and noticed no new customers. He slid into the other side of her booth.
"I couldn't help but notice your mood... Anything wrong?" He went about this as carefully as he could.
He could only imagine what he was getting himself into. Dang him and his tender heart.

Her eyes shifted slightly from the glass to the boy who now sat across from her, she'd seen sweet before, nice, kind, caring, but this boy seemed to be beyond those things in a good way, he seemed to really care even though he didn't even kow you. She managed to meet his eyes with hers,"define wrong?"she asked, everyone had their own definitions of things, and this one word had many different varieties of the way it was used.
She stopped drawing the circles and she pulled her head out of her palm and folded her hands on the table top as she looked him in the eyes trying to find a trace of deception and she found none.

"define wrong?"
A small smile played at the corner of his lips as he said this. Even though she seemed upset, she still had an amazing sense of humor. He chuckled slightly and shook his head while looking down. Having brought his own drink with him, he now traced a circle around the rim, much like she was doing before hand.
"Well, how about we get better acquainted first, hmm?" He raised his eyebrows and grinned slightly. "My names Roger... and you are?" He held his hand out to her, only supposing she was going to except it.
He opened his mouth to answer her questioned, but shut them quickly. He figured it would be easier for her to talk to him if she knew him a little bit. Roger was not one to just randomly talk to people. He had major trust issues and never, ever opened up to anyone. He didn't want the same for this girl next to him. He wanted her to actually love life and others. This is why he had encouraged her to talk to him.

Her eyes followed his for a moment and then turned to focus on his hand, she accepted it as she spoke,"uh I'm Krissi, but everyone just calls me Cowgirl..."she said as she vaguely shook his hand and then pulled her own back to her. She settled it back in it's safe place nicely folded with her other hand and resting on the tabletop. She looked him over once more before looking down just slightly.
"See, I notice you didn't answer my question, though as sarcastic as it may have been, there are ways ta answer it.... everyone has their own definitions, you must have one..."she said, her logical side coming out as it often had lately.
She wasn't always logical, it seemed only when she had time on her hands to think about the world, the people in it, and everything else, was when she became logical. She thought too much when things went wrong, when things bothered her and she tried to detach herself from others, but she would try to talk, for the sake of this boy sitting before her.

,"uh I'm Krissi, but everyone just calls me Cowgirl..."
He grinned slightly and shook her hand. It always made him laugh when one of the newsies told him one of their names. He never really understood the meaning of them, but it really wasn't his place to say anything. He wondered where she had gotten a name such as cowgirl... "Where did you get that name?" He wondered out loud.
"See, I notice you didn't answer my question, though as sarcastic as it may have been, there are ways ta answer it.... everyone has their own definitions, you must have one..."
He raised his eyebrows at her. That was not what he was expecting. She did have a point though. How did he define wrong... He shrugged and looked out the window. "I don't know. I guess I define wrong as how you looked," he shrugged again, a little bigger this time. He turned back at her and grinned, "You looked like something was wrong... so I asked..." He shrugged once more, but only slightly this time. He placed his hands on the table and started to twiddle his thumbs.

Her nickname, he questioned it, well at least he questioned it without asking if she was smittin with Jack Kelley,"Well I really dunno how I got my name honestly, I mean it could be alot of reasons, I know how to ride horses, not that I do that often, ha one time I kinda had to ta get away from these creeps, I hopped on a random horse and took off, but not much I can explain bout my own nickname.....I know of one person who calls me Poet and he's a doll...."she muttered, she hadn't seen Blake in awhile.
She listened to his definition,"So yer sayin' that people are what's wrong, when someone is sad looking, something must be wrong?"she asked, partially to tease him, partially truthful though.

Roger nodded and smiled slightly. He licked his lips and leaned forward on the table, "So, does your nickname have anything to do with Jack, the cowboy?" A smirk played at his lips as he said this. He had been wondering this since she had introduced herself. It was a very direct question and he waited for her answer.
He raised his eyebrows and leaned back against his seat. "No, I'm not saying that just cause someone looks sad that they are automatically. A lot of people look sad, but aren't really sad. And then there are those that are really sad, but hide it behind a fake smile..." He said this last sentence with disgust dripping from his words. People like that annoyed him. He would much rather be real, then fake. He shook his head, almost to clear it, and then looked back at her. "In answer to your question, No. Something is not always wrong when someone looks sad. I was just making conversation with you earlier, I guess," he shrugged.

Cowgirl laughed slightly at the mention of Jack, she should've seen it coming this time. She shifted in her seat and leaned back crossing her legs and looking at him as her hair fell in her face curtaining it nicely.
"Well, no....Jack and I have been friends fer quite some time, that's it.....in reality if something were to happen more than that......it probably wouldn't last, I care 'bout Jack highly, I'd do anythin' fer him, but I don't think he could love me as more than a best friend..."she said, her eyes slightly hurt by the truth of her own words.
She shrugged,"making conversation is nice, everyone needs more friends, you could have all the friends in the world and still not be happy, but me, I like to be surrounded by friends, or at least friendly faces..."she said.

Roger raised his eyebrows in amusement. Apparently there was something going on between her and Jack. She seemed somewhat jumbled when Roger mentioned his name. His amusement turned quickly to confusion. "You don't know that," he stated, his voice softening at the look in her eyes. In reality, Roger had a soft spot for the damsel in distress.
Roger smiled and shifted in his seat, making himself comfortable for the upcoming conversation. "This is true, and I agree," he started, with some amusement in his voice. "But sometimes I like to just be alone, ya know?" He inquired, eyeing her carefully.

Her eyes flitted up to him then down to her glass before meeting his eyes once more. "But you see, it may not be completely true, but fer as long as I've known Jack, I used to think it could happen, I used to tell myself when we were younger that it was possible to be his and only his, but then as I got older I came to realize that it was a dream, one that would take a lot of time to fulfill if it were to be fulfilled at all, he prolly just sees me as a sister, or another one of the boys, we've always been close until just recently, but now it seems impossible..."she trailed off feeling as though she were simply rambling on about something that made no sense.
She brought the glass to her lips and took a drink before setting the glass back down and speaking again,"You seem fairly nice you know, you seem like you're prolly a great friend,"she muttered looking down just a bit in avoiding eye contact for the moment.
