Kay was spending the day out of the theatre, seeing that some of the set pieces broke during last night’s show because someone was to busy flirting instead of working, so she did not want to get an earful from the owners. But today, she was going out as Kay, and not Kimberlin in hiding.
Her long golden brown hair seemed to be floating because of the breeze. It was a warm summer day, so Kay went into Johnson’s to cool off. After she sat down, Kay saw a boy about her age walking her way. When Kay looked up she was starring into his beautiful hazel eyes.

Roger was once again working in Johnson's. Somedays, like today, he wished he was somewhere else. Maybe on a date with Mimi, or hanging out with some friends. Anything but being here. He loved the money, but hated the work. Some may call him lazy because of this, but he didn't care. Why don't they try working everyday of the week, all day, for little to no money. He knew everyone did it, and he was blessed to have a job like this, but he was in a bad mood and he was going to rant if he wanted to!
He was yanked from his thoughts as the annoying bell above the door chimed. He always had wanted to kill that thing, and now was no different. Grumbling, he made his way toward the new costumer that had just arrived. He was the only waiter there today, and so he was automatically assigned tables.
He made his way toward the girl, and tried to look as pleasant as possible. If he was going to have to work, he at least wanted tips. Pulling at his notebook, he said, "What can I get ya?" He flinched at how harsh his voice sounded. So much for tips....

Kay could tell that he wanted to be anywhere but working, so she thought that she would be a nice customer. She was looking over the menu when he made this was over to her table. “What can I get ya?” He said to her, with a slightly harsh tone to his voice. Hay did not have a lot of money, so she was going to get something small. In a rather flirtatious voice she said, “I’ll just have a sandwich and some water please.” When Kay saw something that she wants, she goes for it, and she wanted a piece of Roger.

“I’ll just have a sandwich and some water please.”
His eye flickered from the notepad in his hand to the young girl that sat a few feet away from him. She was attractive, he would admit that much, but he wasn't interested. He had a girl friend, and wasn't about to mess that up for some girl he didn't know.
He nodded slowly, eyeing her carefully. "Okay, that'll be right out..." He backed away and then finally turned and walked to the kitchen. Sometimes he wondered if girls just flirted for the fun of it and to make idiots of themselves. But he really shouldn't be rude, maybe they were being nice....

Kay had never been rejected by a boy before in her life, so she found it weird that Roger would just walk away. “Did I come on too strong?” Kay wondered to herself. Roger soon came out with Kay’s food. She thanked him and put out her hand and said, “I’m Kay, Kay Reynolds.” Roger shook her hand and then heard his boss say he could go on break. “Do you want to sit?” Kay thought this would be the chance to get to know him a little. Just a Roger was about to sit, someone walked in the door. (Mimi can join this message)

Mimi walked through the door of Johnson's, glaring up at the annoying bell that her and Roger hated. She decided to take a small break from selling to come by the restaurant and see Roger. She glanced around the store, looking for him. She saw him by a girl who looked her age, or maybe older. She immediately put her guards up, Mimi was a very jealous person.
She walked over to their table with a confused look on her face, she tried to cover it up with a fake smile. "Hi Roger," She said, looking at him feeling very confused. "Um, who is this?" She asked, trying not to be rude.

Roger brought out her sandwhich and drink. He set it down and was just turning to leave when she spoke again. He took her hand and shook it quickly. "Hi, I'm.. uh.. Roger" It was weird for him to be talking to someone like this. He was not one to trust people and he would never just give out his name to someone. He wondered why he was talking to this girl in the first place...
He winced, what a great time for his boss to give him a break. He nodded and sat down, "Thanks..." Wow, this was uncomfortable. And to make it all worse someone came in. This someone was just the someone he didn't want to see right now. After all he was sitting with another girl, at lunch. It looked weird.
He stood up immediatly, "Mimi! Uh hi.." he flinched at how nervous his voice sounded. He added quickly, trying to cover his confused response. "This is...uh..." He looked at the girl and quickly shook his head. "Kay, kay reynolds..." He looked back at Mimi, with a nervous grin on.

Kay could tell that by Roger’s facial expression that someone, that should not see Kay talking to him, walked in. When Kay looked back to see who it was, she knew it had to be Roger’s girlfriend. Kay knew at that moment, she was going to be the cause of trouble. She was begging to feel like such a screw up. After Roger had introduced Mimi to Kay, she said, “Um, yeah, I’m Kay, like he said, and we were just talking, and you know what, I’ll just go.” Kay put the money down on the table and started to head out the door…

“Um, yeah, I’m Kay, like he said, and we were just talking, and you know what, I’ll just go.”
Mimi's head snapped over to Kay, she didn't notice she was there. Well, she did, but she was too busy concentrating on Roger, wondering what he was doing. She knew that he would talk with some of his customers, but this was the first time she's actually seen him. "No wait, its fine...really, it is." She smiled a friendly smile at Kay.
She cleared her throat awkwardly, "I'm uh, Mimi." She stuck out her hand for Kay to shake it. Her green eyes glanced back towards Roger, who was still standing there looking nervous. She gave him a small nod to let him know she wasn't mad or anything like that.

Roger shifter his weight as the girls talked. He really needed to go back to work, his breaks were supposed to be 5 minutes or less. He usually used them to go the bathroom. "Listen, girls, I gotta go back to work." He glanced at Mimi and gave her a warm smile. "Do you want anything to eat Mimi?" His smile grew as she nodded at him to let him know everything was fine.
As if on cue, his boss yelled for him to get back to work. He glanced over his shoulder and then back at Mimi. He bounced, impatiently, on the balls his feet.
//Roger is out, but will be in every few post!!//

"Do you want anything to eat Mimi?"
Mimi shook her head, "No thanks, um if I could have a glass of water, I'd appreciate it." She returned his warm smile. She glanced down at the table and back at Kay, smiling again. That's one thing she's learned over the years, smiling makes almost every uncomfortable situation comfortable again.
"So um," She started to say, "What do you do for a living?" She asked, as she bit her lower lip.

Roger headed back to work, and Mimi seemed not to be the kind of person to get mad over this. Kay still was going to be careful of what she was saying to Mimi, because Kay would speak without thinking, a lot.
Kay was thinking of small talk when she heard Mimi say, "So um, what do you do for a living?" “Well, I’m a musician and I sometimes get to perform on the stage. But, I feel the job I’m best at is screwing things up for everyone else. So, what do you do for a living?”

“Well, I’m a musician and I sometimes get to perform on the stage. But, I feel the job I’m best at is screwing things up for everyone else. So, what do you do for a living?”
Mimi winced when she said she felt like her job she was best at was screwing things up for people. "No, I'm sure its not like that." She said with a reassuring smile. She never liked it when someone was upset or felt like that. "Well I um, I'm a newsie. It never was my plan, my passion is the stage and performing. But things didn't work out like I planned." She said with a slight sigh.
Her bright green eyes scanned around the restaurant, looking at the other people. It was a normal crowd for the middle of the day. She propped her head up with her hand, hoping Roger would come with her water soon. She wasn't good with meeting new people at all, and it always turned out into an awkward situation.

Roger worked quickly and quietly, glancing over at Mimi and Kay. He strained to listen to what they were saying. Every once in awhile, he would notice Mimi glancing his way. He wondered if she was truly okay. It was an awkward situation. But Mimi kept her smile all the same. He loved that smile.
His hazel eyes met hers. He smiled. He was suddenly lost in her eyes. Without thinking, Roger kept walking. Suddenly, he crashed into one of the other waiters, James. The food and drinks he was holding went everywhere. Good thing he was wearing an apron. After he got a nice lecture from James about watching where he was going, Roger was on his way. His face was flushed and his clothing was wet.
