They water dripped from his hands, down his arms. Chills went through his body as the cool hair met his wet skin. He could feel his fingers pruning from the water. The whole kitchen smelled bad, and the stench was starting to get to Roger. He felt as if he'd been in the kitchen, washing dishes, forever. If it wasn't for his boss, he wouldn't be here.
Basically, Roger asked for extra hours so that he could earn more money. Roger didn't know extra hours for his boss meant working in the smelly kitchen, washing dirty dishes. But Roger tried not to complain; money was money.
He scrunched his nose as the dishes started to pile higher and higher. Roger was starting to get frustrated. It seemed like the dishes kept on coming, and at this rate he would never be done. His boss wouldn't let him out until all the dishes were done. That seemed like an unreachable task.
The once clean, clear water was now darkened and dirty. How was he going to clean dishes with this? Roger knew he needed to change the water, but he didn't know how. This was his first time working back here. But how hard could changing the water be? All he needed to do was get rid of the gross water and refill the bucket with fresh water. That sounded easy enough, but the one thing Roger couldn't figure out was where to put the gross water. Glancing around, Roger noticed the back door. He could just dump the water outside, right? That sounded right to him.
He pulled the bucket off the counter and started to haul it to the door. It was a lot heavier than it looked. His muscles strained under the weight as he dragged it to the door. The water started to splash off the sides of the bucket, but Roger didn't notice. After what seemed like hours, Roger finally got the bucket to the door. Opening the door, Roger tipped the bucket and let the water pour out. Breathing a sigh of relief, Roger made his way back to his post with a now empty bucket.
WACK! Roger's foot slipped on some dripped water and his feet were puled out from under him. A groan of pain escaped his lips as he landed on his back and banged his head on the tile flooring. "Roger! Boy, whats going on?!?" Roger's boss had obviously heard either Roger or the bucket landing on the floor. "I got it, I got it..." Roger groaned. If only he had help...
