"That's great. I can't wait to meet him, I've heard so much about him."
Sarah smiled and nodded. "Maybe sometime you two could have lunch." Since David had become a newsie and had become friends with Jack, many people wanted to meet him. Every time Sarah introduced herself they would ask if she was related to David "The walkin' mouth." Sarah would simply smile and nod. That is how it always was. Everyone wanted to know about David or Jack. Sarah wondered when it was going to be her time. I can't be afraid, cause it's my turn to be brave.
"So I was wondering if you would like to go to lunch with me sometime. As friends, just friendly acquaintances. I'm willing to buy."
Sarah was taken a little off guard by his invitation. He was risking a lot, asking her to lunch. Sarah couldn't remember the last time she'd had a lunch invitation. It had been a very long time, at least with a guy. Did he know exactly what he was doing? Sarah decided that Jack wouldn't care and she could got to lunch with Mike if she wanted to. And she did.
