((This thread is ONLY for Chance and Shadow. Enjoy reading it, other people!)) This was not going to be easy. Shadow and Chance would be meeting up at Irving Hall tonight, and she would not be performing. She had asked Medda if she could take the night off, and she had been granted her request. She was going to spend the night hanging out with Chance and Shadow. But, that wasn't what she was worried about. No, the tension that would be going on with the two brothers and her was not her problem, but it was the marks all over her arms and legs. These marks were marks that you couldn't wash off. They had to heal. She had gotten into a little fight earlier that day... Flashback;Chloe, a charismatic girl who enjoyed a bit of adventure in her life and Terry, a very rule abiding young lady with a horrific temper who didn't like change were selling together. It hadn't been Chloe's choice to sell with the rodent of a girl, but decided to make the best of it anyways.
"Lets go to Brooklyn, to the docks and throw marbles at the boys, eh?" Chloe asked, her eyes shining in anticipation.
"No! Joker...We should just...Stay on this street and finish up these last papes..." Terry squealed timidly.
"Aaw, come on! We can sell them just as well in Brooklyn as we can here, lets go!" Chloe argued, grabbing Terry's wrist and pulling her forwards. Terry, being the insane, over-protective of herself person that she was, had a moment of panic. Well, it was more like a whole fifteen minutes of panic. She went completely hay-wire. She started leaping around, clawing at Chloe and snarling like a terrified animal about to get stabbed. Chloe was quite astonished at her behavior, and defended herself by plowing the girls head into the nearest street lamp - but not before the girl had clawed her arms to shreds. Next, the girl started after Chloe, and Chloe decided she would make sport of it. She took off towards central park, with Terry in hot maniacal pursuit. Good lord, Chloe hoped the girl didn't have rabies!
Chloe glanced behind her to see how far ahead she was. Stupid move. When she looked forward once more, there was an end to the path and a slight drop down into a thicket of thorns. Thats how her legs got shredded to bits. Her dress was in tatters around her legs, she looked as if she had just lost a cat fight, and was having the time of her life until the pain hit her.
End of Flashback.Chloe shuddered at the memory that had happened merely 2 hours before now. Now, she had to break out her only other dress. The blue one. She had two dresses; a mahogany brown one (which was ideal for selling, being light and unable to see dirt spots on it) and she had her blue one. The blue one was dainty, and rather pretty, but it had darker patches in it, and grass stains. It looked like the sky and a field had collided one day and formed a new type of dimension. Chloe sighed, and slipped it on. Now she would have to get another dress. She brushed out her hair, glancing at her face only for a brief second in the hazy, cracked mirror that leaned lazily against the wall, and then hurried out the door and into the dirty street. She didn't notice the lovely little fingernail slashes across her cheek. She arrived about 15 minutes late to Irving Hall because of her little adventure. Her face was stinging and felt a little wet (It was the blood) but she paid no mind to it as she scanned the Hall for one face. One face that belonged to two people.

Finally the day Shadow has been waiting for arrived. He was meeting Chloe at Irving Hall. He didn't know the way to Irving Hall very well, seeing that he lived in Harlem and not Manhattan. He got to Irving Hall without dying, now all he needed to to was find Chloe. Wouldn't she be performing? He couldn't remember what she had said. He sighed, slightly and walked up to the building.
Shadow looked around, trying to see if he saw someone he recognized; mainly Chloe. He wasn't too keen on Chance being there as well. He would like it much much better if it was still Chloe and him. With Chance being there, well Shadow would have to remain quiet because he might get mad at Chance's stupidity. Plus Chloe liked Chance more than she did Shadow. He didn't feel included, he felt as if he was being pitied and was included for that reason.
He pushed his hands into his pockets, and looked around for Chloe. His grey blue eyes locked on a familiar figure...with a lot of cuts on her. Concern filled his body as he walked over to her, almost running. She had some cuts on her face, Shadow couldn't help but worry. That was his nature, he didn't like to see a girl get hurt. If it was a guy, he could care less it was their own fault for pissing the other person off.
"Chloe, are you okay?" Shadow asked, "What happened?" He was almost fully glad that it was just him and Chloe, and Chance wasn't there. If Chance was there than he would've been all up in her face, and Shadow would've been left out, like always.

Chance smiled as he walked down the street. Today he was going to meet Chloe. It had been awhile since he had been on a date with her and he was looking forward to it. Lately, he had been down in the dumps. Things had been crazy. First, Shadow and himself had gotten into a fight about Chloe. He was going to tell Shadow, but he was just very busy with things. He wasn't going to deny that he had been avoiding Shadow, things between them had been tough. But he began to miss him. And he wanted Shadow to be apart of his life. But then 'that' happened.
Chance got in trouble because of his brother. Crutchy had seen Shadow with Mike and had thought that it was Chance. Jack was upset, to say the least. Chance had to make up some story about why he was talking to Mike. So now, Jack didn't trust him. Chance could kill Shadow sometimes. He had told him to be careful and to not be seen. But no, he had to go and talk to Mike where everyone could see. Chance hadn't talked to Shadow in two weeks.
But that was all behind him. Now he was going to see Chloe. She made everything better. She had been kinda of distant lately, but now they were together. Or they would be. She took off tonight just to hang out with him. That made him happy. Therefore the smile.
As he approached Irving Hall, his smile faded. There he was, with Chloe. Chloe looked hurt and he looked concerned. Except, that wasn't him. That was his brother. What was he doing with HIS girlfriend? Angry boiled in him, almost jealousy. Did they know each other? Seemed like it. Chance stalked to Irving Hall, upset. He was already mad at his brother and now this. He was really upset now.
As he neared them, Chance felt his angry slowly fade. Chloe looked really hurt. Chance rushed up to her, brushing past Shadow. "Chloe, what happened?!?" He placed his hands on her shoulders and searched her eyes. Whoever hurt her, they were dead. Chance would kill them. Shadow was forgotten, just for a moment. Chance would deal with him later.

"Chloe, are you okay?" Shadow asked, "What happened?"
Chloe whirled around to see Chance. No...Shadow. It had to be Shadow. His tone was quiet, reserved when he spoke, even in surprise. What happened? What had happened? Chloe thought for a moment as she tried to figure out what he was talking about. Oh right, her arms and legs were scratched to shreds.
"Hi to you too Shadow..." she said sarcastically, grinning faintly. She was about to explain what happened when Chance repeated the question from somewhere else.
"Chloe, what happened?!?"
"What is it with you two and skipping greetings?" Chloe asked, half laughing. She didn't see what all the fuss was about. It was just a bunch of scratches. Well, a bunch of bleeding scratches. They seemed pretty worried about it though, so Chloe figured she might as well give them an explanation.
"This girl freaked out and tried to dice me with her nails, and then chased me into thorns." Chloe said dramatically. "Nothing big." she added meekly, grinning. "Now, since you two don't know how to greet someone, I'm gonna teach you," Chloe began and turned towards Shadow. "I saw Shadow first, so I'm gonna greet him." she said.
"Hey Shadow!" she exclaimed, looking genuinely happy to see him as she engulfed him in a hug. Next, she turned to Chance. "Hello there Chance." she added, grinning impishly before planting a kiss on his lips. "There now, its that easy." she stated smiling at both of them. "Now its your turn." she added.
Hopefully neither of them would be mad at the other...If they started to fight, there was no telling what Chloe might do.

"Chloe, what happened?!?"
Shadow glared at Chance, stupid Chance and his stupid timing. If he would've had five more minutes, Chance would've been a forgotten memory in both of their minds. Shadow pushed his hands into his pockets, feeling embarrassed. How could he think like that? Chloe and Chance were almost made for each other, Shadow was just..there. He always would be just there for the rest of his life. That's me in the corner, he thought sadly. It would always be like that.
"What is it with you two and skipping greetings?"
Shadow looked down at his feet, it was Chance's fault. If Chance wouldn't of arrived, Shadow would've done a proper greeting. He couldn't help his first statement, he was concerned. Anyone would be if it was someone who they truly cared about. And Shadow truly cared about Chloe. Chance probably didn't, he probably thought their relationship was just for fun. That was Chance for you.
"This girl freaked out and tried to dice me with her nails, and then chased me into thorns. Nothing big. Now, since you two don't know how to greet someone, I'm gonna teach you, I saw Shadow first, so I'm gonna greet him. Hey Shadow! "
"Are you sure you're okay?" Shadow asked, concern filling his voice. He smiled at the sudden change of the subject, and looked over at Chance for a second. He fought the urge to flash him a triumphant smirk. He accepted the hug; anyone would be crazy not too.
"Hello there Chance. There now, its that easy. Now its your turn."
Shadow's 'victory' was short lived, she just had kiss him in front of Shadow. He looked down at the ground, anywhere but them. Thankfully, it was short, and now he could just forget about it and move on. He was a stubborn person, and didn't feel like giving a greeting after that. He looked over at Chance to see if he would go first, and so Shadow would follow, like usual. "Um, hi Chloe." He said, he decided to take a step out of his comfort zone. Who knows what would happen if he did that, he looked back over at Chance to see what he would do.

"What is it with you two and skipping greetings?"
Chance looked over at Shadow who looked down at his feet. Chance tried not to glare, for Chloe's sake. They could work this out, the two of them without an audience. Right now, they would have to try to enjoy each other's company. That didn't mean that Chance wasn't upset. How did Shadow and Chloe know each other? Chance voiced his thoughts, "How do you know each other?"
"This girl freaked out and tried to dice me with her nails, and then chased me into thorns. Nothing big. Now, since you two don't know how to greet someone, I'm gonna teach you, I saw Shadow first, so I'm gonna greet him. Hey Shadow! Are you sure you're okay?"
Chance chuckled at Chloe's explanation. That was Chloe for you. She then proceeded to lecture Shadow and Chance about their greeting skills. Chance grinned at her. Chloe was so amazing. But then she hugged Shadow. Chance felt jealously flare up inside of him. How did they know each other?!
"Hello there Chance. There now, its that easy. Now its your turn."
Chance smiled against her lips. "Hello Chloe." He was beaming. He tried to hide his smug look. That would only make Shadow more angry than he already was. Chance could tell Shadow was upset, call it twin intuition. "And hey, Shadow." Chance made a face and looked down, trying to hide it.
{Not very good}

"Are you sure you're okay?"
Chloe smiled encouragingly at Shadow and nodded. She actually went a little pink with the feeling she got from his concern. "Aaw, thanks Shadow, but its just a few scratches. I'll live." she said sweetly.
"How do you know each other?"
She thought that might come up eventually, and had no need to drone out a well rehearsed speech or think before she talked. She already knew somehow what she was going to say, without actually thinking about it at all.
"Funnily enough," she began, pausing for emphasis, "He just so happened to be the one that was there for me to pour out my problems to when I was in Harlem at the river." she stated calmly, raising an eyebrow to imply the hidden meaning that she was trying to get across. Meaning you weren't there, so I found someone else.
If Chance had looked angry before, he looked enraged then, when she had hugged Shadow, but her kiss seemed to have had a cooling effect on him. Shadow on the other hand, looked a bit disappointed and embarrassed.
"And hey, Shadow."
Chance seemed smug. Yep, he was smug. He was smug because Chloe had kissed him and liked him better. She silently locked eyes with him and scolded him with her look, and then turned mischievously towards Shadow.
"Since you are my mate's brother, I guess you deserve one too." she grinned, and then gave him a peck on the cheek.
((Never fear, Joker is here!))

"Aaw, thanks Shadow, but its just a few scratches. I'll live."
Shadow had to bite his tongue from saying, "Are you sure?" He was too cautious, and he wanted to make sure she was okay. The scratches looked pretty nasty, as did the bruised. He also wanted to make sure she wasn't lying or anything. He was pretty sure she wasn't, but you never knew. He could tell lies pretty well, but not this well. He just smiled slightly, and kept biting his tongue.
"How do you know each other?" "Funnily enough, He just so happened to be the one that was there for me to pour out my problems to when I was in Harlem at the river."
Shadow beamed and nodded, "Right, we met in Harlem at the river." He said, using emphasis on Harlem, which is where Shadow lived. And Chance didn't. He smiled at the thought that he was there for Chloe instead of his brother, who happened to be her boyfriend. He felt special that HE was the one there for her instead of Chance. He stood up a bit straighter, and gave a smug look to Chance. A look of victory.
"And hey, Shadow." "Since you are my mate's brother, I guess you deserve one too."
"Hi Chance.." He said quietly. Chance probably was just saying hello to him because Chloe was there. Chance had this act he would put on for people that had some sort of importance to him. This would be the act right now.
However, another feeling of victory came over Shadow with Chloe kissed him on the cheek. He felt..special, that her boyfriend was standing right there, but yet she chose to acknowledge Shadow. And not blow him off like Chance was doing. He beamed again, this feeling was great.
