"You ready?"
Mimi sighed, looking up at Roger. "I guess so. Its now or never." She began to walk towards the Lodging House, looking back at Roger to make sure he was going to follow her. She didn't want to do this alone.
She was chewing on her bottom lip, wondering what she'd say. She never did like apologizing, and wouldn't do it until she found it necessary. She knew it was something she had to do, but she didn't like it.

He grinned and took her hand and squeezed it, trying to reassure her. He walked along with her; subconsciously rubbing the back of her palm with his thumb. They came to the front of the lodging house and he followed her in the door. He wondered what would happen. He didn't think it was such a big deal that Mimi was gone over night, but then again Star was her leader, or whatever, and Mimi probably should have told her. He didn't think it needed to be made as big of deal as it needed to be, but Star probably only did that to prove a point. He could understand why it would have been weird to punish your best friend, and that is probably why it got made to be a bigger deal then it was.
The door swung open and what it revealed made Roger laugh. Newsboys were strung everywhere. Some where laying on the ground, and their limbs sprawled out every which way. Some of them lay on the couch, but not necessarily the right way. Trash was everywhere along with food, that Roger wasn't sure was even edible. He had never been in a lodging house before and this was a funny sight to him. His gaze finally made its way to where Starsage sat. She was among a few boys, playing poker. She looked to be anything but happy, or maybe that was just her poker face. He couldn't tell. Either way she was sitting within feet of Mimi. Suddenly he felt a pull on his hand, which was wrapped firmly around Mimi's. "Oh no ya don't..." He pulled her retreating form in front of him and pushed her carefully toward Star.

Mimi winced as she saw the sight of the inside of the Lodging House. It was a mess, food was everywhere, papers were everywhere, boys were everywhere. She sighed, and felt embarrassed that Roger had to see this. She heard him laugh, and was almost positive that her face was now bright red. She took a deep breath and led him in behind her, walking up to Star.
She glanced down at the floor, but then lost every ounce of courage within her and she backed away.
"Oh no ya don't..."
She looked up at Roger, hating and loving him at the same time for making her do this. She took a deep breath and began to speak, "Hey Star," She said in a hoarse whisper. "Um, I just wanna say, I'm sorry for the way I blew up. I didn't mean to, and it was wrong. I didn't know, and it'll never happen again." She paused, looking back up at Roger. "I'm going to be staying with Roger tonight, so I'll see you tomorrow." She bit her lip and turned around, "Let's go." She whispered to Roger.

Roger watched the two converse and waited patiently. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other. Every once in awhile he would run a hand through his hair. He let his gaze wander as the girls talked.
There was newspapers everywhere. He guessed it made sense, since they were newsies. He chuckled lightly as some of the newsies continued to lay every which way, not even noticing him there. The only people that really took any notice of him were the ones a the poker table. Again, he shifted his weight and brought his gaze back to the girls.
((Sorry, not much Roger could say))

"I'm not mad at you, and I didn't know that you didn't know.....If you want to, Ya can stay here. I should've given you a second chance. It was only your first time missing curfew. But, yeah, don't let it happen again."
Mimi sighed a sigh of relief, thankful that Star wasn't mad at her. "I'm really sorry," She said, "It won't ever happen again. I promise." She glanced over at Roger, who looked very uncomfortable, she grinned and looked back to Star. "I think it'd be best if I stayed with Roger tonight, so that way an example is set for the younger newsies. So that they don't think they can slack off and get away with it." She put her hands into her pockets again, feeling happy.
She glanced around the Lodging House, "Hey Star, when was the last time you guys cleaned this place?" She asked, trying not to laugh.

"Stay with Roger, huh? Sure sure, I see how it is..."
Mimi opened her mouth to say something, and then closed it. "You better be happy that I can't think of anything witty to say." She said in an almost whisper. She glanced back at Roger, her brown curls whipping her face. He was with some of the younger newsies, and it seemed they were just about to get some of his money. "Roger, we're done talking." She said, trying to hide her smile. Roger must've been extremely bored while her and Star talked, he didn't have to stay but she was very happy he did.
"What's wrong with it?"
Mimi rolled her eyes, "I'm surprised nobody has gotten lost yet." She said sarcastically, their Lodging House was a mess. Mimi was surprised that they were able to keep it this messy for this long. "When I come back tommorrow it should be clean." She teased.

"Roger, we're done talking."
Roger glanced up from where he was crouching and grinned sheepishly. While Mimi and Star were talking, Roger had tried to be friendly to some of the younger newsies. If it wasn't for Mimi, those little buggers would have already cheated him out of what little money he had. He gladly made his way toward where Mimi and Star were abiding and straightened his clothes. He stretched and smiled at Mimi once more.
He slipped a hand around her waist and smiled at her comment about the lodging house. He chuckled and leaned in to whisper in her ear, "Be nice," he squeezed her lightly and sent a grin in Star's direction.
